How do you know if your Television type is 4.3 or 16.9 for the digital retune

If it is capable of "widescreen" it is typically 16:9.
4:3 is for much older "standard" squarer shaped CRT TV's.

There are 4:3 LCD screens too, so the distinction is confusing. The easiest way to try (assuming you've no idea what a 16:9 ratio screen looks like) is to select it as an option. If you see black bars top and bottom AND lose much of the content on the left & right of the screen, change it to 4:3.

If it looks awful, change it - you'll probably be right! The days of Testcard F are long gone, a pity really, as this would solve the problem and show what was missing!
