I have a 60 plate 308 ( diesel sport ) with less than 20K,
so still in warranty for another 20 months.

Going a bit off topic, but no need to re-register GB plates for NI, or vice versa. NI people will quite often do so, as our numberplates don't contain a year, and some people want to hide the age of their car, imagine if someone found out your car was 3 years old!!
Some quite good numberplates for personalisation here too, that can make their way across like MAZ___ and OIL___ etc.
What you DO (sortof) need to do still is get your car moved over from the DVA (Cardiff) system to the DVLNI (Coleraine) system.0
