Best Gap I have done is where I walked up to the counter and made my order the member of staff shouted ' Gap ' so loud the whole restaurant heard.

The best one I had was to a hardware store. I had never spoken to anyone at that location before, so they couldn't have recognised my voice.

Anyway, he answered the phone and I asked my question. There was a long pause before I heard him should "Dan, the mystery shopper's on the phone". Poor Dan came onto the phone and was so nervous he didn't do any of the things he was supposed to. :rotfl:

I'm guessing it was time to change the scenario :rotfl:

I've noticed the chicken lot arn't that bothered about it when you ask for the receipt.

But saying that, they don't seem too bothered about anything. I dread doing the walk ins, it's always so disgusting in there.

The burgers though. Just go along with it. They know what you're doing, so play on it a bit to amuse yourself. Look around a lot, jot little notes down on the back of your news paper, look at your watch a lot.

I've stopped even doing the chicken walk-ins, they're always so minging. I told that to the girl from gap on the phone last month and she said she heard it a lot.

I dunno, I always get asked if I want a receipt in gapburgers so I've never found it awkward at all. Maybe that's the policy of the franchise who has most of them round here? I'm still fairly sure they know who I am, mind you. :D

    :D Brilliant.

They don't seem to have much common sense when it comes to scenarios, do they?

Of course they do. They don't just give you the receipt, they ask you. And when you say, "Yes please" you might aswell be wearing fake boobs, with a parrot on your bonce holding a 'Mystery Shopper' placard.

They know, you know, you know they know you know. Just have as much fun as you can with it.

Mind, their restaurants are always spotless. They're lightyears ahead of the minging chicken lickers.

I still think one of the best daft questions was for the eggs post office jobs where you had to ask the post office clerk where a food item in the supermarket was.

Or asking Kevin the Teenager in the fruit and veg section where the carrots are, just in case you didn't notice those bright orange things in the next aisle :D

Some of my gapburger places give receipts automatically and others don't, seems to depend on who owns the franchise. TBH it's not that unusual to ask for receipts for self employed and people on days subsistance. A lot depends on the location and day of shop though.

I noticed TNS aren't on the list of companies at the start of the thread:

Is it worth adding them? I've just signed up, they seem to have a lot of jobs for a well-known supermarket.

They are on there, just the title is missing. I don't work for them anymore since they sacked me back in Jan for not doing any jobs for them. They were still incompetent enough to email me today offering me a job though!

Anyone else ever signed up to do a shop only to be served by a friend / someone you know who knows you MS?

    That was akward.

I had this once in a GapBurger and the receipt machine wasn't working. I'd asked for the receipt quite casually to try and be slightly less obvious (despite the whole I know, you know, I know you know, you know I know you know etc :D) and she's fiddled around with it, and casually said sorry, can't give me a receipt, then went to carry on. so obviously I had to be a bit insistent and give a valid reason for needing it, so said I was down in the local area for a work meeting, so needed it for expenses. The supervisor she called over and relayed this info to, turned out to be someone I used to go to school with, so knew full well that I actually lived up the road :o She gave me a bit of a shifty look, but went along and was so overly polite and lovely that even the woman on the till was looking very confused!

So far I have never seen anyone I know in ms jobs but I always wondered, what if you bump into someone you know in gap burger job?? As they say not to bring anyone, they could accuse you of arranging to meet them there. How would you react? Ignore them lol
I had this once, and I did just mention it to Gap because I figured if I didn't then no doubt I would get an email from them with a detailed description of myself, asking if it was in fact me, and who I was with etc. They were fine with it, as it was at the end as I was on my way out, and I did try and make my excuses to leave (car park ticket about to run out ;) ). Obviously if it had interfered with any timing points etc, then that might have been more important and they wouldn't like that.

Does anyone have a email address (ideally) or phone number for Retail Active? Can not track one down on their site and need to move a job.

    Thanks
