There is no way they can say the dog was a distraction. Although that company would do well, to learn to pay people on time.
A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work0 -
I did check with GAP as they wanted me to do a job when I was enroute to somewhere with my parrot in his travel cage. I was told no pets but they'll only know that if they decide to check the CCTV and happen to spot the pooch.0

has anyone else just had an email from an american mystery shopping company asking them to sign up ?
Im trying to work out if its linked to the tns email leak or random.
it states they got my details from a particular person - some one ive never heard of any how ..
someone is passing on details any how. It has my full first and surname though, and I dont use that one anything other than TNS...
the email ends with:
"This email is an advertisement from ... because you have registered with one or more mystery shopping companies."0 -

http://www.sentrymarketing.com have checked them and they are legit. Its not the usual western union scam stuff they even warn about that, email asks me to go to their site and register if im interested
say they got details from a Dawn hunt.
googling here seems she is now an independent allocator for a few companies in the us,
but she had passed on my email address and full first and surname...
confused and annoyed now0 -

I got this email as well. It included my name, which can't have been gained from my email address. The only American companies I'm registered with (that I can think of) are SSS & CRI.
My email doesn't say it's an ad though.
I'll be up for the MSing if they pay the fare (business class of course).0 -

You can't claim the meal as an expense if you are only doing the visit for the meal (i.e there is no fee, or the fee is £5 and the meal reimbursement is £50)
If you are doing a visit just for the meal, then the meal is your payment...and you are taxed on this.
So if you accept a job for a restaurant that pays a £60 reimbursement and no fee, it costs you £10 petrol to get there - you've benefited by £50 and will be taxed on this at 20% - so pay £10 tax. A good way of looking at it is that you've had a great meal for a tenner
I'm sure this is right....someone will tell me if it isn't!
Not everyone does it that way, most people would claim the Reimburesement and less the expenses (up to value of the reimebursement). Not showing any loss of course.
There is no law to say one must do it the way shown above, common business principles say you take your payments less your expenses.
If people wish to declare it that way, thats fine, HMRC will gladly take your tax. Plenty of people do it the other way and HMRC takes their tax as well.
There was one over zealous tax inspector who didn't like someone's treatment of expenses. But then probably plenty who we never hear about who have looked into an MS affairs and found their treatment fine. I've read all the tax rules and case law (i specialised in Corporate tax) and I am happy my treatment is okay. So do your own research.
(and if they change the law so its taxable on the benefit received, this would apply to everyone who got say £10 off a meal by filling in a survey post meal or worked as a reviewer for the local paper and got free meals/films to watch/the local travel correspondent etc) clearly unworkable.0
