Just realised I had my pocket dipped after I left a pawn shop MS yesterday. Have turned the house upside down looking for that little bag of gold but no joy.
I expect ESA will sack me when I tell them :-(0 -

they may well send you an invoice for the gold too and say to claim off your business insurance?
were there other people there ?
maybe ask the store to check cctv ? report it to police perhaps for a crime reference number
did you travel by car and maybe its fell out there ?0 -
It won't have happened inside the store. These people watch pawn shops and then dip the targets they identified after they leave the shop. It happens a lot.
I don't mind paying for the gold - it wasn't worth much at all - just don't want to get sacked :-(0 -

I never thought I would be grateful to MF, but since IMS, Optimum contact and FT have all messed up my payments this month I'm disproprortionately joyful to see the price of five pints land in my account this morning :-)0

yeah i realised that, i meant they may have cameras outside the store
sorry that happened, but from what youve said if its happened more than once, perhaps a lesson to you and us to be more aware of personal security of valuables, esp if carrying bags of gold
I think id be the once bitten twice shy kind of person though.
it always makes me laugh at the irony that pickpockets or "dippers" on underground stations of purses and wallets apparently pick their targets from watching people reading the "warning pickpockets operate in this area" signs who then pat their pockets or check their bags to check they still have their wallet or purse thus revealing the location to the theives to go and take later on :cool:0 -

Sorry that it happened to you. I would suggest you write to ESA offering to pay the money before they do, and hopefully it will work in your favour.
I am always paranoid carrying the gold; I hug my bag until I get home.0
