in light of a phone call I had yesterday. what's the furthest you've ever gone / been asked to go for a gap burger, or similar 'small' job?

Gap's lack of UK geography sometimes shows

A trip to Wakefield for a computer shop. I explained it would be a round trip of around 120 miles and would take about 4 hours in total travelling time, so he offered me an extra £5. Sadly I had to decline his generous offer.
Here I go again on my own....

I once drove from Bristol to Yeovil, 80 mile round trip. It wasnt a mystery shop, was a promotional compliance audit. I was told I would be paid petrol so took the job as a package with lots of other stores, cant remember how much they paid me for petrol but it was nowhere near enough. Nowhere near the 28p a mile they used to pay.

Moral of the story is to always agree a fixed amount before you do the job!

It's hard to tell from their accents, where they're calling from. I'm gonna ask next time.
