I have been known to wear a digital recording device and then take the timings from that using a smart phone. I think the fast chicken suggest it anyway, not so sure about the burgers but never had a timing point queried and you don't look like MYSTERY SHOPPER tapping away on your mobile in the queue. Accurate to the second and you also pick up on their interactions with you. It shuld be obvious from the conversation when the other timing points are. I wear my recorder in one of those passport security pouches that hang round your neck under jacket etc.

I was thinking of doing that but don't have a good Dictaphone. My mobile's mic is not that great and don't have a external mic for it.

Guess that will be my first purchase with my MS money ^_^ lol

What timing apps do guys you's use?

I'm trying to find a good one for my android.

iphone - headphones plugged in - coughing at "timing points" such as reaching counter, paying, receiving food etc. play back recording at home and time it. Never fails.

Thanks to Lil'me for this tip.

My mobile is nearing its death. My contract renewal is in January. What to do? Do I go and buy an uber posh new phone or wait for my contract to expire? Help me barbz.

Also, if anyone sees a holiday shop on GR, don't pick it! Stupidly picked one up as I have not had any work this week. The mos would not let me leave without making a booking. Practically had to run out at the end. I was expecting her to bring some rope and tie me to the chair. LOL. I was in their just short of 2 hours!:eek:

Flipping heck, I thought mine was bad at 1hr 10m! My eyes were glazing over by the end. I'm not doing that scenario again, far too many options for them to chatter on about.

Sorry you suffered the same fate. Y'all know what the worst thing is, you can barely fit anything in the report with the flamin' word limit. I came close to telling the woman I was the mystery shopper and running. She seriously did not want to let me go! I can understand why the travel visits sit around forever and no one picks them up now!

Yes, done the GR and ESA travel agents and afterwards wished I hadn't! Both well around the hour mark.

    They certainly can drag on.
I've done 2 and got out in about 45 minutes each.
My get out was to say that my OH will be putting it on her credit card so I need to come in with her when she finishes work. They then just put the holiday on hold for me for 24hrs.
    Worked a treat both times.

Meanwhile.. Does anybody have any experience of customer perspectives? I did my only job so far for them back in mid March and haven't seen the money yet.
I know they pay by cheque but does anybody know when? The OP says 21 days maximum. Their website just says once a month but doesn't say when.
  • I had picked up a couple of the ESA frozen shops and think they have made a mistake with the dates.

    The "summary" briefing notes say
    • Date/Day required: Monday 7th or Tuesday 8th May 2012 only
Then the PDF detailed instructions say
Note: Visits cannot be carried out at Weekends or Bank Holidays

Given that Monday 7th is a Bank Holiday that means that they can only be done on the 8th.

I will give them a call on Monday and double check as I was planning on doing mine on the Monday
