Lower fee than city centre RA electrical with 2x reimbursement of RA electrical. At least RA cheap supermarket offer a decent reimbursement. I don't like reimbursement only, but RA offer double what MF are offering.0 -

Working out your profit/loss
There have been lots of people on the old MSing threads asking how to work out their taxable income. Below is a little example of how to do this for each job, with some suggestions of what you could include for each job you do:
Income: (includes all fees and reimbursements): £30.00
Expenses:
Job specific costs (anything you had to pay out as part of the job) (£20.00)
10 miles @ 45p (HMRC’s agreed rate per mile) (£ 4.50)
12 pages printed @ 6p (reasonable cost of printing a page) (£ 0.72)
Profit (income less expenses) £ 4.78
I have to admit I am still a little confused by the tax issue....
In the above example, I assume tax is only paid on the profit i.e £4.78 x 20% (for me anyway) = 96p?
What if the job in question was a meal/drink in a pub or a purchase in a shop (jumper for example), don't you pay tax on the cost of the jumper/meal? I've been told in the past that you do, but from the example above you wouldn't?
Also, what if the job has no fee, just a reimbursement e.g up to £15 to buy something from a shop. Let's say Ispend £12 on a pair of shorts, the shop was a 5 mile round trip away and there were 5 pages to print...
Fee + Reimburesement = £0 + £12
Expenses = £12
Mileage = £2.25
Printing = £0.30
Profit = £12-£14.55 = -£2.55
Tax = -£0.51 (i.e. tax bill reduces)
OR
Profit = £12-£2.55 = £9.45
Tax = £1.89
I've calculated what I think my tax bill would be with both methods and obviously there is a significant difference in the two numbers. Obviously, the taxman will calculate the right figures based on the numbers I put on the forms, so I guess what I am asking is do I submit the cost of a meal/purchase which I get reimbursed for as both an income and an expense or just an income?Santander Loan [STRIKE]£3003[/STRIKE] £2100AA Credit Card [STRIKE]£3148[/STRIKE] £2676Natwest OD [STRIKE]£1500[/STRIKE] £1370Cahoot OD [STRIKE]£1000 [/STRIKE]£650Capital One Card [STRIKE]£641[/STRIKE] £400Total [STRIKE](Jan 12)[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£9546 [/STRIKE] £7196 (Now)0 -
