Why have people "Thanked" this obvious remark? What specific advice did it offer them to improve their lot? Bizzare.

They thanked the remark to show that they agree with what was said.
Think of it more as an "I agree" button

OP this thread has just reminded me of something i noticed the other day. I opened a newly bought(was only bought few days previously) bottle of squash the other day and i just happened to see that on the label was an offer for cineworld eg save so many labels and get a free ticket. Upon checking the expiry date of the offer it had been out of date for at least 5 maybe 6 months.

Sould I sue tesco for depriving me of the right of taking up the offer or should i let it go ?

What happened was the bottles with the offer on were at the front and an employee pushed those bottles at the front to the back so the shelf could be replenished OR those with the offer on the bottles label happened to get pushed to the back of the shelving in the warehouse.

In answer to my question no im not suing tesco as its not a big issue.

Probably they had a price increase and they just fed it into the system. Computer systems are not clever enough to know how many should be sold at the old price and how many at the new price, especially if its the same barcode.

If we buy new stock and it has increased, we change the price on the computer system and thats the price all will be sold at (even the old stock).
Its like petrol, the seller raises the price when he buys new stock at new prices. All petrol sold will be this new price. They cannot sell some at 1 price and the new at another. Its just the way it goes.

If you do not like the increase, unfortunately there is not a lot you can do apart from not buying the item or going elsewhere.

They can choose to sell at whatever price they want to. You can choose not to buy.

Sorry, but no, we don't have a choice not to buy. We all have to eat.

But we have a choice of what we eat, or in this case drink!

Drinking green tea is not a necessity, and Tesco are not the only retailer selling Twinings tea. So yes, op does have a choice whether to buy it or now!

But, in the wider scheme of things, many people don't have those choices. With one or two large conglomerates strangling the market, many consumers are left with little choice but to go to the diminishing number of retailers left.

We have purchased from Asda and Morrissons, Twinnings Green Tea for months now.

This is despite huge price increases and due no doubt to the "recession" and automatic price hikes from retailers seizing the opportunity to raise their prices.
Are the supermarkets (and no doubt all others) allowed to sell at increased prices despite proof that they bought the products many months prior to their price hykes? Or is it just opportunism?

answer: dont shop there..wonder why tescos are losing customers and aldi are picking up sales
automatic price hikes from retailers seizing the opportunity to raise their prices. dont buy it ..simple...

One or two, as in a small number. I am sure you are familiar with the concept.

Yes I am. It's the number of times you can back up what you say. You do remember your little 'Google it' episode and what it lead to?
