I recently bought a Sumvision Astro 7" capacitive android tablet now running ICS 4.0.3 for £85 from ebuyer. This tablet is basically a re-branded Ployer MOMO9 tablet. Its amazing for the price!

Heres a link for the same basic tablet for £72.99 though the postage is a lot steep!:

Thanks OP, this thread is exactly what I was looking for.

Am an Avon recruiter so need something bigger than my phone but small enough to pop into my handbag rather than lug my laptop around. Am a BT subscriber and have also been wondering about the difference between BTFon and BTOpenZone (doh!) I also go abroad too so presumably these tablets will pick up the Internet at wifi hotspots there - yes/no - or would I need to connect to my HTC phone (on Orange)?

Sorry for all the questions - just want something cheap/cheerful but reliable. What's the least I should look at paying?

Will now backtrack and check out all the links above but if someone can point me in the right direction I'd be really grateful.

Apologies in advance if this is a reeeeaaallly stupid question.... When I finally decide what tablet I want, do I have to buy it 'on contract' i.e. like a mobile phone, or can I just buy it to connect up with any available Hot Spots? :o

Yes, you'll be able to connect to any wireless connection when you're abroad (as long as you have the password). Just like in this country.

You don't have to buy one on contact either. Most 'cheap' tablets aren't 3G ready anyway unless they support 3G dongles, so getting a data plan is useless.

I think as long as you realise that a budget Tablet will be functional and do the job perfectly well and never be an iPad I would suggest capacative screen also. I have been running a Storage options unit and it is absolutely superb.

I'm also looking for a andriod tablet but for 50 or less that can do the same ( Internet, games) is there any good one out there for that price ?

i bought my daughter the disgo 7000 for £65 from play. Yesterday it was reduced to £50 (you do need to buy a seperate sd card) so got the other kids one each for their birthdays and 1 for my birthday :D (hubby refuses to have one as its not good enough for him). now that i know what to do with it (i did post a few weeks ago because i couldnt get anything on it) its quite good. my daughters has angry birds, films, maths stuff, draw something, sonic, other games, music and i found a facebook app that works, e reader and got loads of books. i am now looking for stuff to download for me when mine arrives!!!! :D

for the money i think its pretty good now. :D
