SSD advice on decent make

I'd suggest looking past pure headline transfer rates - when I looked, the ones with the headline rate tended to have the worst reputation for reliability.
Except for the new Samsung 830 series that is (uses Samsung's own controller, NOT the dreaded Sandforce). This trounces the Crucial M4 in speeds yet Samsung along with Intel is at the top of the pile when it comes to SSD reliability. I've had my 256gb Samsung 830 SSD for a few months now, not a single BSOD, firmware can be upgraded in windows (no need to faff around in DOS with bootable cd's or usb drives) and above all its made my thinkpad x220 super fast...windows 7 boots up in less than 12 secs, programs like autocad are a pleasure to use.
