If the car park requires permit holders to display the permit then they are entitle to penalise those who don't display a permit.

No they're not. Think about the word 'penalise' and reflect on where you've gone badly wrong there.

I still dont understand why you would remove it in the first place just for an MOT, having the windscreen replaced I could understand.

You cannot have anything (i.e. tax disc holder, satnav holder, permits) that even so much as touches the edge of the area that your wiper blades cover, otherwise (according to MOT guidelines), its an obstruction and can cause it to fail.
Chances are they moved it to pass it.

A silly parking company can not send you a summons, only a court can do that and not for a civil matter.

Correct but, under the circumstances, academic. The PPC ticket is still legally unenforceable.

Thick - maybe not, stupid - possibly, forgetful - definitely yes otherwise why would you fail to display your permit like you have done for years.

I still dont understand why you would remove it in the first place just for an MOT, having the windscreen replaced I could understand.

But you said that a firm could 'penalise' someone. They can't. No private company or person has the authority to issue fines or penalties.

Before I even saw that Crabman had moved it, I could tell at a glance that this thread didn't start out on the right board due to the replies!

Do some of you who posted here really not realise that all private parking 'tickets' are fake? Rubbish, with as much clout as an advertising flyer on a car.

It's a well known scam, publicised in the nationals by Martin Lewis in 2009 and by Watchdog in several episodes from 2010 to date (and a PPC are due to be exposed on Watchdog AGAIN this week!).

The OP can just ignore this preposterous extortion attempt!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A real Flyer may be some use, like money off at burger king !
The fake parking ticket flyer is much less use.

Bluediamond, I hope that now you have made it over to the specialist forum you are reassured that you have absolutely nothing to worry about. "Graham White" is not a solicitor, it is a fraud perpetrated by Roxburghe plc. Nothing whatever will be done, they have NEVER taken anyone to court (well, on one occasion some years ago, they lost, never tried again since) so don't be fooled by their lies.

Unfortunate when people like spiro give "advice" on subjects they know naff all about, but I assume it was well-intentioned and you have worked out that it is not the sort of advice you want to be taking. Manxred has summarised the situation perfectly.
  • Just want to chuck my twopeneth in. Listen to these guys, I have, they know what they are talking about. It's ridiculess to have to pay anything just because you haven't "displayed" your permit. Don't ever, ever, ever, ever think about paying them a penny.

If you read my first post it clearly said "How enforceable it is I don't know.".

I know some are and some are not enforceable hence me putting that in my post.
