Misleading PPI reclaim adverts

Just saw a few adverts on tv about these disgusting 'companies' and it shocked me. They state reclaiming PPI is a time consuming and difficult process, obviously it is not. They even post these statements as 'fact'. Surely this is misleading and false advertising from these vultures?

Really, truly it isn't.
As someone who used to work for these banks, you are farrrrr better off doing it yourself. Just be honest and try to recall as much as you can. Honesty is important! If it looks like you can recall details its far more likely that they can take your account as credible.0 -
Its amazing that people really fall for them. Even my 10 year old gets angry with them as she can see the faults in them.Honesty is important! If it looks like you can recall details its far more likely that they can take your account as credible.
Many of these claims companies use the same template for everyone and they all seem to have had identical conversations despite all the different firms and years apart and all the people have perfect recollection of what was said... according to the letter. Problem is that if you are found to be dishonest, then credibility goes goes away from you and any grey area that may have gone your way wont because of the lies told.
Banks are now reporting as many as half the complaints on PPI they get are from people who do not have any PPI. Yet get template letters as described above from claims companies.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. What's all that about? Complainants frequently get far more than that!0 -
I have had some success complaining to the ASA about ambulance chasers.
You need to know where and when you saw it as well as the content but you can do it by e-mail and it doesn't even cost a stamp.0
