Royal Mail Packet alternatives for Small Business??

I run a small ecommerce business and I'm not looking forward to the price increases specifically because of the larger fixed price weight band changes for 1st and 2nd class packets from 0-250g to 0-750g

I use a franking machine for discount but even then it means my prices per packet go up by £1!!! My issue is I sell a lot of low cost and low margin products which need to go as packets because of their size.

The large letter and special delivery increases are workable but I need a different supplier for the packets and not sure what to do as couriers can be expensive and the cheap ones unreliable!

Any tips, was thinking of TNT but not sure I do the volume to get comparable prices.

Any tips as the date is looming?

I wouldn't bother with royal fail or the post office, most likely they will shut down soon. Check out parcels2go or myhermes....they seem to be the best alternative for both large parcels and small.

The OP is talking about fairly light packets where there is now a flat rate up to 750g. I think you would have to send an enormous volume with a carrier to get any where near RM's £2.20/ £2.70 2nd/1st class.
