PPI Claim with Citi and Welcome Finance

Just wanting a bit of advice really. I have just started claiming PPI from Welcome Finance and Citi Financial

I sent a letter to Welcome Finance requesting a copy of my loan agreement etc as I had no documents - I enclosed the £1.00 fee. They sent a letter back to say they no longer hold a copy of the loan agreement as this was closed 6/11/2002 but would send a copy of the statement which they have.

On my statement it states the amount of the loan (£10,000) + dispursal of fees (£1,315.00) + Insurance Premiums advanced (£2,779.27) making a total of £14,094.27. I was assuming that the insurance premiums advanced relates to PPI?? When I phoned Welcome they basically told me this was not the case and anyhow I could not do anything about it because it was closed in 2002.

I am just wondering if anyone else has had dealings like this with them. Should I SAR them or unfortunately are they right???

Second one with Citi is starting to get tricky already. I sent them the same letter with the £1.00 fee but had heard nothing back. Phoned them on Friday (after about 7 attempts to get through to the right department) and they were asking me a lot of security questions and because I failed to give the telephone number I had at the address (I have not lived there for 7 years so cannot remember) they refused to speak to me further....

Think this is going to be a long road ahead :-(

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Michele
