Netflix and broadband limit

it depends on which on you get,
sky currently do 2 (3 if you count FTTC but that works the same as the LLU product) basic products,
one is based on you keeping your BT telephone line and so running your internet through BT's equipment (non LLU) this service is carp, and can be expensive monthly but once out of contract is as easy as any other service to transfer from
the other is where you take out your line rental from sky and so they transfer you over totally onto their equipment (LLU which is local loop unbundled), this gives you much better service and cheaper broadband however it can be expensive to leave them as you are classed as no longer having a BT line, so to leave them you then have to 'return' to a BT line (i think currently its about £120 for a line activation) before you can get another broadband supplier and so in general you will also experience a small period of time with no service
personally i am on Sky LLU and have been impressed with the connection and the unlimited side of it is very very nice, as above i regulaly go above 500gb a month and i do not get any form of traffic shaping or extra costs, just my normal £7.50 a month
Sky Connect should be avoided but it is not necessary to take your line rental from Sky (full LLU). Sky LLU broadband does not require you to pay line rental to Sky. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

does it not any more, thats much improved from when i took it upDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
I signed up for LoveFilm but cancelled as I travel outside of the UK a lot. Has anybody used Netflix etc both in and outside of the UK?0

I used to be on Virgin until I moved.
Now I'm stuck with ASDL connections and only 3 companies have unbundled my exchange. AOL who I wouldn't touch with a barge pole, TalkTalk another company I wouldn't consider going with and Sky whose salesmen are obnoxious.
I ended up going with Orange who where cheapest who are running on the back of BT wholesale.
I hate the "upto" speed these companies advertise. My line doesn't support more than 4mbps stop telling me I can get speeds I definitely can't get!0
