I'd like to nominate CAFCGirl for her Giving up money for Lent Challenge

She's been an inspiration and a support to everyone who's taken part. I've saved myself a huge chunk of money that would normally just get spent on "nothing".Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -

It never occurred to me to give up spending for lent but I'm so glad I did. I've saved a lot of money and it's all down to CAFCGirl. She's been our inspiration and our school marm throughout and kept us on the straight and narrow. Look out for our next challenge and for our Unnecessary Queen.MFiT Member No 85

I nominate post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=4668244#post4668244 because I don't know either of them but it still gave me a lovely warm fuzzy feeling :happyhearDesperately seeking [STRIKE]Mr. Squiggles,[/STRIKE] car and garage, [STRIKE]surf board, ball, funhouse,[/STRIKE] wheel, slide and pet carrier :rotfl::santa2::think: :snow_laug0

I second (or third, or fourth...) this nomination. It's a great thread which has got a lot of us thinking about our spending habits and more besides. CAFCgirl has dished out wise advice, stern admonishments when needed and been wonderfully warm and sympathetic too.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

I too would like to nominate CAFCGirl's 'Giving up money for Lent'. She has been such a huge encouragement. I am now so much more aware of how 'just a little treat' now and again can add up to such a lot.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

i see a reoccurring theme here. CAFCGirl came up with a simple idea but it's led to a lot of people reviewing their spending habbits and in some cases, their lives. A whole support group has emerged from this challenge and I really feel that CAFCGirl deserves some recognition. Thank you CAFCGirl.Total debt as of May 2007: Tesco [STRIKE]£8499.65[/STRIKE] £7,333.57;
