Thumbs up for warm air. Its instant. Not many parts in the units, so cheap to repair. Thats if they ever go faulty. Our old unit the bearings dried out in the fan due to age.

Only trouble is people that have not had warm air are a bit nervous of it, thus could put some prospective property buyers off.

But it is the best form of heating i have ever had.
  • We replace many warm air heaters with newer models, it is all a myth that you cannot replace them and you have to have radiators fitted, also johnson & starley still make the parts for every warm air heater they have ever made. The cost to replace your warm air heater with another warm air heater would be alot less than putting a combi in and it would be good for another 30 years, where as a combi would more then likely need replacing every 7 or so years.

Also when people say they are not as efficient as a combi boiler if you compare your gas bill to one of your neighbours who has a wet system I bet their is very little difference in both the bills.
  • I have had radiators, electric storage heaters, and warm air heating. Without doubt warm air heating is the most efficient. It is dry so never leaks. It is instant and gives a more even heat as the warm air gently circulates, so no cold patches that you get with radiators which give more warmth where they are. They run off gas - I've never heard any running off electricity - no idea where people get this idea from. Most hotels and office buildings use air heating systems - IT IS CALLED AIR CON. The people in the UK are scared of anything they do not know. In the US and Canada everyone has warm air heating. We are just very small minded in the UK and I guess women like to put their washing on a radiator. Have they never heard of airers?
