not fond of it. Full of people posting every two minutes about what they had for tea, what they drank last nite, or every little thought that runs through their minds. I do consider it quite sad ! but thats just me:rotfl:0

Neat little thing about Facebook is that you can unfriend or block people if you don't want to see their inane postings every 2 minutes, you can change settings so you only see their status, not every comment they make...oh there's so many things you can do with it. And as far as I know there's actually not yet a law that says you have to sign up for it.
Credit card fraud? I think you'll find that's been around for a lot longer than Facebook
I'm a real person, as far as I'm aware I haven't been turned into a machine but then I'm able to control myself and not spend every waking minute on there.
Now please excuse me as I have a farm to attend, some !!!!! people to sort out and a whole host of people to poke
ETA. Oops I wasn't being rude, I referred to certain Italian gangster types - obviously sensitivy here is higher than with the machine like folk on facebook lol0 -
I agree, it is an awful site. It might seem like a great idea, but the fact is that it ruins real people and turns them into nothing but dull machines.I also was recently the victim of a card fraud perpetrated by Facebook, so it is best to stay away.
Facebook doesn't force anyone to do anything, there have been idiots since the dawn of time and Facebook is just the latest platform for them to show off their skills.0 -

Do you not see the irony in posting such a statement on an open forum that allows such free speech to be said? At least you can say on here that you can be a bit more anonymous when posting, but in all reality, it is not that much different to posting on FB.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Like most things in life (and especially online), problems are largely a result of "user error". You could use Facebook to speak with people who live miles away, get in touch with an old friend, tell people about a great restaurant you happened upon, send someone a link to a great article you know they'd like.
Or, you could post unsubstantiated claims that "liking" this picture of the dying puppy will save its life, post thousands of pictures of your baby's poo, tell everyone what you're doing every moment of every day, and treat status updates as therapy ("why are people such backstabbers...", "I'm soooo angry right now", etc.)
Ultimately it's up to you how you use it and whether you choose to interact with people using it in a particular way.
On a related note, I presume you change the channel if you don't like something on tv?0
