What nonsense. If I post on Facebook, I am simply telling the 37 friends that I have there. I have kept in touch with people I haven't seen for 30/40 years, and getting fun newsfeeds from magazines and NewsThump, plus getting facts from Full Facts and tax info from Tax Alliance. I love it and never have problems.

If you are, then adjust your security settings and unfriend anyone who is being nasty to you.

    It's all in your hands.

I agree with the above, I've got a group of friends that I use it to keep in touch with them wherever in the world they live.
I can chat to folk in the US or Australia, see photos of their location and lives as they can for me.

Problems or stupid posts don't exist as you have to be known to us to find us

OP...if you don't use FB then you won't be bothered by it! But lots of people use it without losing sight of the real world...don't be in too much of a rush to tar everybody with the same brush.
And at one time it was all about the dangers of internet chat rooms...which is where I met my hubby :)
And lets not forget there's some nutters on this forum at times lol

'Tis true, my father's friend's wife lost a couple of fingers to a lawnmower the same day that he created his facebook account. The whole site is a liability. What's worse is that we didn't find out that it happened for over a week ... they should really do something about that.
If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.

I agree, it is an awful site. It might seem like a great idea, but the fact is that it ruins real people and turns them into nothing but dull machines.

I also was recently the victim of a card fraud perpetrated by Facebook, so it is best to stay away.

Nothing wrong with facebook but there are those who will post every second of they're life on there, theres a few people on there who will just annoy me with they're faceboo status updates.

Thru Facebook I've got re-acquainted with loads of chaps I served with in the RAF & some I haven't seen for over 20 years.
We have also organized a real life re-union on Facebook, the second of which will take place in Blackpool at the end of September & I am really looking forward to it,so Facebooks not all bad...

Blackpool at the end of September

Sort of co-incidence, I found 2 of my cousins and a school friend who I hadn't seen for over 40 years on FB, but am also talking to a load of folk from where I was born, near Blackpool, with a meet arranged for July
