Aldi/Lidl Lurpak lookalike - any good

Good afternoon fellow bargain hunters.
I really only buy Lurpak butter but am finding it's becoming too expensive for me. My food budget is miniscule so I can't afford to buy the current offer (buy 2 for £4) so I'm trying to find an acceptable alternative.
I've been tempted many times to try the lookalike spreadable butter in Lidl/Aldi but keep putting it off for fear that it'll be nothing like my favourite butter.
I absolutely hate 'pretend' butter, all types of marg etc so it's got to be butter all the way. If anyone has tried either the Lidl or Aldi spreadable butter could you please let me know if it's any good?
Thanks
llb

I haven't tried it, but I have read before that you can make your own spreadable butter by using a pack of normal butter and vegetable oil and a blender. As spreadable butter is just butter and oil.
Might be a cheaper alternative?0 -
I heard that aldi butter is the same as lurpack ...0

Thank you both - wow I didn't know you could so easily make spreadable butter!
Mind you my mixer is broken so I'd have a heck of a problem trying to do this by hand - will try it one day though. It really is amazing how much I learn reading through these threads.
I think I'll maybe take a chance on Aldi's butter today - fingers crossed

I have tried both and think that Aldis is slightly better than Lidls. Though it's not much cheaper if you can get two lurpacks for £4.00 as it's £1.79 a tub.0

I love Lurpak and recently bought Aldi's version which is called Norpak, however I am afraid to say that I don't like it and is nowhere near as nice as Lurpak. Having said that, it depends on personal preference, but there are many other Aldi products that I love.0

I tried the Aldi spreadable recently and it wasn't just as nice as Lurpak, I try to buy Lurpak when it's on offer 2 for £4 or whatever. We were shopping in Aldi the week we needed some and decided to try it we finished it but I won't be buying it again. The real butter is just as nice as Lurpak by the way.0

I only buy aldi's one now and think it is excellent.
Would not go back to Lurpak even if the price came down.0 -
Thanks for all the replies.
Well, I bit the bullet and bought Norpak from Aldi this afternoon and, having tried it, would say Lurpak is by far the best.
I wouldn't say it's awful, it's just not Lurpak.
I will probably go back to my favourite when my Aldi trial is finished. I must say however that I love many of Aldi's products and find they are far superior to other brands. Just a matter of personal taste I suppose.
My favourite Aldi drink at the moment is the fiery ginger beer - an absolute steal at just 49p and tastes yummy
Thanks again everyone :T

We've been using Norpak for years and I have to say that I can't actually tell the difference between it and Lurpak!0 -
Haven't tried Aldi one, but have tried the Tesco equivilent of Lurpack and it's horrid0
