DLA form 107

Today I have received a letter from DWP saying I need to be reassessed for my DLA and sending me a DLA 107 form.

I only completed my renewal form last year!

Is this part of the Governments reassessment of DLA or is there another reason I have received this?

Is that the right number of the form? I can't find anything about it, it must be new.

Are there any other numbers on the form? When was your current award due to end? What is the number on the letter?

That is the number on the form which has come from Blackpool

I have an indefinite award so no end date as such

That's all that's on the letter I have googled but can't find any reference to this form

I think you'll find the letter that comes with the form is a DLA107 and the form is a DLA180. If so it's part of the right payment programme. I had one last month, sent form back about 3 weeks ago still waiting to hear back.

You are right sorry it is that form and letter

I don't know what this right payment thing is do you know anymore?

I am stressed out by it, last time it took forever to complete my claim and when I was awarded indefinate I hoped it was sorted for a good long while

    Sorry for the questions

Well like you I was and I am still stressed. I phoned Blackpool up and got told matter of factly it's part of the right payment programme. Which basically is when they pick out at random claims to be looked at again. This is to ensure the correct amount of DLA is being paid. I was then told don't worry just fill in the form and it takes between six and seven weeks to hear back.

This is from the governments website regarding it

"Receiving the right amount of benefit - 'Right Payment Programme'
If you are already receiving Disability Living Allowance, you may be asked to attend a medical examination as part of the Right Payment Programme.
Under the Right Payment Programme, any Disability Living Allowance award may be reviewed to make sure the person is receiving the right amount of benefit.
Your current benefit award will only be changed if the review highlights a change in your current entitlement. If this happens, your award will be adjusted accordingly - this could be up or down. If there are no material changes, your award will remain the same as before."

You have been very helpful thank you

Although I am still stressed it helps knowing I am not the only one who has had this worrying letter. I only had mine redone last year that's why I panicked

Yep i was exactly the same and now everyday is an anxious wait to see if the dreaded brown envelope drops on the doormat. If it's any comfort you won't be the only one who received one this week, they seem to do them once a month, and from the information I can gather 84% stay the same 15% go up and 1% go down.

Have you got three weeks to fill the form in and return it?

It was dated 11.4.12 and has to back beginning of May, I think it's just a day or so over 3 weeks

The letter doesn't say anything about why they are doing it which in opinion is very unfair and causes unneeded stress

My letter said " We need some more information to determine whether we are paying you the correct amount of Disability Living Allowance!"

I think mine was dated one day and I got it the next and had nearly a month before I had to return it.

The best advice I can give you is fill it in with as much detail as you can and don't worry if you seem to be repeating yourself. It took me almost 3 hours to complete and I felt drained afterwards. It was a relief to post it and try and put it out my mind for a week or two.

Has the return envelope got the correctness program stamped on it next to another address?

I hate those brown envelopes! It's a particular shade of brown that no other company uses and my heart always plummets when one drops on the mat...more stress and hassle!

As Harry7075 says, it takes so long to complete, you have to repeat yourself and you feel totally wiped out afterwards.

No wonder we all dread them.
