faulty tvset bad customer services

i bought a new lg widescreen last year 24/06/04 from rgb hifi&videobut it has developed a fault and is stuck in standby,anyway i rang rgb be told me to ring
lg as it has a 12month warranty so i did they in turn gave me there repair services number which i rang they gave me a date to collect the set week later, i waited in then got a phone call saying could not collect as driver's off sick etc,so scheduled another collection a week later they could not come any earlier both times,so i waited in again no one showed up so i rang them
they then said fellow had a car accident so cant collectthey would schedule another collection but would ring in an hour times to arrange another time,they didnt ring i rang again they were closed till next tuesday after easter,i rang LG and asked to speak to customer service manager,reply he's in metting all day isaid could he ring me they said doubt it mettings all day,
but they would ring the service company i said you cant there closed,i said i only want a working tv as i dont have another.end result no help form anyone
no tv over easter or am not even sure when ill get the set repaired either
what can i do what is possible how can i get lg to help me whos the boss.

    your contract is with the store you bought the tv from, was it online or high st?

    You can quote the Sale of Goods Act it is the retailers responsibility to sort out problems, as your contract is with them, you can also take them to the small claims court for up to £5000.

    i remeber you could once ring a Trading Standards office,and they would speak on your behalf do they still do this.ideally i would like someone in the know with good phone manners authorative etc to speak pn my behalf.as they wont be palmed off
