    Hello

Query sorted, I have signed up to Tesco.
They gave me a great deal cos I have a clubcard.
They will also contact BT, virgin and talk talk, but I will also contact them to make sure once I have my date for connection to tesco, which will be up to 17 days time.

Thanks for all of your help, I found the best deal, starting at £16.75 for the first 12 months and then £20.75 afterwards for calls, rental and net.

    Am one happy bunny

Check your Virgin Ts&Cs and make sure that you have given them the required notice for termination of your existing BB. Getting a MAC doesn't necessarily do this or is accepted by an ISP. Make sure you confirm in writing/email. If say they require 30 days then either defer your Tesco switch until then or be prepared to pay Virgin the remaining days. Make sure you are out of contract.

    Hi

Luckily, cos my account is so old, I don't have a contract end date.
Virgin my old ISP sent me an email with this in:
We wanted to let you know that your Migrations Authority Code (MAC) has
been processed by your new broadband service provider and your Virgin
Media Broadband account will be cancelled on the 30-04-2012.

    Thanks

Hi, I am in a similar situation:
    1. Contract out with T.T. on May 11th
2 I am moving to Orange (Quido Deal £50 cash back)
    3. I have an Orange Mobile
    4. Exchange is already T.T. and Orange LLU

Question is when and who do I contact to get this change over, and do I need Mac code as LLU exchange.

    Hi

I just visited the website of my then, prospective new supplier, and a chat-box opened up whereas I was able to speak to a member of staff.
Turned out their deal was the best, and could organise that.

You could try doing the same with your new supplier, maybe they can organise the changeover too?

I doubt that you will be able to go to Horange direct from TT, if both are LLU. You will probably have to do a 'return to donor' back to BT for 12m line rental.

Thanks for info Macman but I was told by TT that as they wer LLU I would not require a Mac code. Any furthur info would be appreciated.

A MAC is not the isue. The issue is the ability of most ISP's to handle the complexities of an LLU to LLU transfer. Given Horange's generally abysmal ratings, I'd be very surprised if they can do this.

Not using a MAC may result in you incurring a cease charge from BT being passed on to you and not being picked up from the new ISP.

Seriously are their no better options at your exchange say Sky or O2.
Orange outsourced its broadband network management to BT some time ago.

Or maybe see if you can get a better offer from TT.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Agree, if Horange is the only alternative then I'd stay with TT.
