Confused over speeding ticket

Here's a quote from that link I sent you, which reflects my stance on the matter.Joe_Horner wrote: »Do you, or do you not, agree with Pendulum that the kinetic energy of the object you hit (a car moving towards you compared to a stationary object) has no possible bearing on the effects you feel?
Of course the physical weight and build of the two vehicles will also have an effect, if indeed there are any differences (we haven't said there are any differences - it is possible two identical vehicles could collide), but one thing is for sure, two cars striking head-on at 70mph each, whether they are identical or not, does not result in a 140mph collision speed. You were wrong. The correct answer is: The two collisions are completely equivalent. From the point of view of one of the vehicles it makes absolutely no difference whether it hits a rock wall at 50 km/h or another identical vehicle which was traveling at the same speed in the opposite direction. The amount of force applied to the vehicle is the same in both situations.
(Ok, in reality there will be some differences because the consistency of a rock wall is very different from a consistency of a vehicle, but this only means that hitting the rock wall will be more severe than hitting the other car, although probably not by a lot.)0 -
Back on subject.
Thanks Maths boys, not had so much fun since algebra lessons.
OP if as you say you were been overtaken, the you need to see this evidence, it may not be your speed on the ticket, dont think for one second they dont try it on, yes they do, all of the time.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. It's not often I say this but he has a point. Get the pictures "to help you identify the driver" and make sure that they pinged you and only you. What goes around - comes around0
