    That's today!

I meant Friday 13 April, thanks for pointing it out.

    Pigsback : £20 and a Beatles CD.
  • I have had Scottish power on the phone trying to keep my custom as I have swiched from oline saver 13 to npower Gofix11 the start date is 2nd May.The chap on the phone said I would have to pay the cancellation fee which seems unfair if true as the contract ends the 30th April and I am still paying the till 2nd May.Sounds a bit fishy to me.I'll see what my final bill says a post again.

You've done it right as your supplier start date is after your contract ends. The guy you spoke to seems to think you are switching earlier but cooling off periods won't be considered, its the registration date that matters and yours is after your contract ends.

  • Yes I have done it right,I emailed Scottis Power complaints and they have informed me that I will not be charged a cancellation fee.Looks like Scottish Power are not fully against a bit of mis selling to try and keep there customers but no doubt it will be put down to a rogue sales man.

But if there is an objection, right or wrong, you are blocked unless they send a data flow to the distributor to remove it...they pass that on to your new supplier who then knows to continue the switch.

If they haven't done that, you will have to initiate a brand new switch thus extending your time with the old supplier and its going to increase the time you spend on higher rates that they caused...maybe they do it to extend it for this very reason to grab more cash out of customers they can't retain? ;)
