The banks normally get back within a few weeks.

I know of a recent case where the bank has paid nearly £6,000 when the complaint was for around £750 on one account. The bank then went and looked at all previous loans and upheld all of them.

Quids in for the customer and the solicitor !!

The whole process took under 2 months. It might be a one off but it shows they can pay when they want to.

Yes I have heard this before, and that is what's making us wonder if this route might be better to take. I can't see that them not being able to find the Policy has to do with anything, we don't ever remember seeing one.
  • I received 6 questionnaires off Barclays and filled out what I could as no paperwork anymore and as I didn't know which questionnaire was for which loan/ card ( each questionnaire had its own ref number) I couldnt even fill out the exact employment detail as wasn't sure on which dates the questionnaires were for! I did state on each form that I did not need Ppi as would have been covered by my companies and insurances we have! It's now been 5 weeks and still ain't heard back!

We got turned down very quickly 3 times because they couldn't find the Policy, but as I understand it as we have proof that it was charged etc they don't need the Policy.

Good luck to you, if I were you I would give them a ring if you have the contact number.
  • I only originally sent Barclays a letter asking if they could look into the loans/cards and see if I had any ppi on them and then they sent the 6 questionnaire so I gathered they found 6 separate policies( still unsure wherether these had ppi or not) I phoned them earlier and they have received all forms back, so I suppose it's just a waiting game now!

The Banks have eight weeks to respond and ensure they take at least that long.

I meant to a letter from a solicitor.

Had a letter back off Barclays yesterday claiming there wasn't a ppi policy on one of the references they gave, so thought would hear about the other 5 in the next few days! Today my partner checked his bank account as was suprised to find £1,800 deposited off the remaining 5 claims! I gather the letters are in the post! His account shows 5 different deposits of £156.54, £588.02, £477.96, £448.35 and £164.12!
Think it will be 8 weeks this Friday since sending off the questionnaires!
