I think that anyone who still uses 1st class postage needs there heads examining - 2nd class has exactly the same compensation in the event of RM losing the item - ie maximum of 6 * 1st class stamps....
And as for time taken for delivery - RM website, admits NO GUARANTEE on either !!
I would swear that, many years ago - I used to be able to put a first class letter in the post box after lunchtime and guarantee it's arrival anywhere in the country in the first post (ie by 7am) the next morning........

who would have thought it. things change
BTW,there was a time they had multiple deliveries in London,as many as seven a day.

    UNTRUE ....

Compensation is up to 100 times the VALUE of a 1st Class stamp (46p)

Currently £46 (and sadly will remain so even when it rises to 60p)

My order of 10 books of 2nd class stamps finally arrived - 10 days after ordering them - has your bank account been debited yet ?

My account hasn't been debited yet, no. I'm hoping they'll come today or tomorrow then, fingers crossed.

Just an update, after I ordered on Friday 13th and received nothing after several days, I did call last Thursday 19th and they said that they should be delivered on Monday 23rd or Tuesday 24th.

This morning (Thursday 26th), they've arrived - well 100 stamps have arrived... out of an order which almost totals over £1,000 worth... apparently they will "be despatched in due course. Please allow 10 days".

Why do I get the feeling they will let me have the £66 worth of stamps and simply refund the £950 difference on Monday the 30th...?

Beckyy, when was your account debited? I ordered my stamps on 14th, account not debited and no stamps. Still waiting on reply from my email to Customer Services so would be interested to hear your experience. Thanks

I didn't want to risk ordering online incase anything went wrong so I went to my sub post office and they had plenty of books of 12 2nd class in stock.

I ended up buying 84 books (1008 stamps) for £362.88.

I just tried to order a sheet of 100 2nd class stamps online but it won't let me checkout . I entered my Debit card details three times and on each occassion, I am bounced back to the payment screen.

    Same story today.

Great advert for a company that wants to list.
