Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 12th April This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Don't faint folks, me seeing two 6 o'clocks in a day, but woke up ad wasn't tired and got up, just checked and found no Daily so thought I would start you off.

I haven't been around much lately as not had much to say, life is good, had that lovely sunny week away in the 'van, all fit and healthy. Just getting ready for our next Spanish trip next weekend.:o:D:D:D:beer::j:j:j:j

Just ordered a load of "bits" to give the kitchen a facelift (cheaper than getting me one) via Wilkinsonplus, with a discount code and Quidco of course. Going to collect it today. DNeice-in-Law is going to have a look at what I am replacing to see if anything is any use to her before the CS gets the rest. Still need to get rid of the old Dishwasher and combi Microwave, I know what you mean Monogram about being retired.

OS wise, still using BM, cooking mainly from scratch, but using up the Freezer, we had a Aldi Salmon Wellington yesterday and will have the other half today, with carrots, parsnips, sprouts, brocolli, and mash for DS, followed by strawberries & cream :o:D We can certainly recommend the Salmon Wellington. We are certainly having a few days of freezer surprise, and need to eat more fish as that is what I have the most of left in the freezer.

(((hugs))) to all of you who are not in a good place at the moment , be it health, wealth, or family which is affecting you, especially Bitsy today. Molly you are not saying much - are you OK, I have PM'd you (((hugs)))

Today had my first coffee, the BM is making some white bread dough as DGNeice is being collected on our way back from Town, and she loves to bake and bread is something her Mum doesn't do. We prefer brown with nuts & seeds, but her and her 3yo brother prefer white, so obviously she has to take the bread home with her;):D

Enough waffling from me, have a lovely day all, be careful as it is Friday the 13th!!

Morning Donny and all to follow,

Cold here again, and possibly a frost, but bright snd sunny :T, off to work today but its friday :T and I finish early :T, so not bad.

Dinner tonight will be salmon new pots and sweetcorn. And I will do a wash tonight ready to hang out tomorrow.

Want to have a good clean through at the weekend, noticed a few grubby patches, so a spring clean is in order I think.

    Have good days all xx

Good morning all brr its a bit nippy this morning just spent a couple of quid off my gift voucher on ama*on for my kindle. There are some good thrillers on there for only 47p each.I worked out that i have bought 13 books with my voucher of £15.00 and still have £3. 02 left over at the moment Excellant value and no storage problems I am well set up for my forth coming holiday.Yesterday I got two films from Block*usters for the kids and we watched Horrid Henry the Movie yesterday and today as the weather is looking a bit too grim to go out we will watch Spy kids 4 The boys like these sorts of films and its a lot cheaper than taking four lads to the cinema. We have some left over chocolate easter eggs and I have a big tin of cookies so we will be set up for this afternoon if it rains. No food spends today though so I am saving on that.
Hope you all have a good day its the last day of the holidays then back to school for them all on Monday and life returns to normal once more .It seems to have gone very quickly and they have been good lads and no bother at all to me.Right time I got some breakfast inside of me.
    Cheers chums

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning everyone

Flutterby - Thanks for the heads up about greenmetroplis - had a quick nosey last night, that's just want I wanted, thanks very much x

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Overcast and cloudy, and wet underfoot although it's not raining at the moment, but rain forecast for later. DH up and off to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was Lasagne and chips, DH moaned that he didn't think I'd made the lasagne, it wasn't up to my normal standard!!??, so told him I'd made an extra large one the last time I'd made it and froze 3 portions to use another day and that day was yesterday! Men are like children you have to find the "thing" that gets to them and with my DH it's going silent on him, I'll speak to answer him and not be rude etc but seems to make him be a bit more considerate! I appreciate he does work really long hours and is shattered most of the time but he doesn't do anything at home in the week and realistically not much more at weekends. So I feel it's ok for me to try to get ahead and make my life a bit easier! I had fish, jacket potato and salad. Haven't got a clue about dinner tonight, so need to organise something, I have a grocery delivery arriving between 4-6pm, so really need to be organised before it arrives as it's quite a big order and my kitchen is small.

Did manage to make a start on DS2's bedroom, took a bag of clothes to the clothing bank, couple of bags to the recycling centre, and listed several items on ebay. Will be making a start on getting greenmetroplis organised too, it's worth having a go if it doesn't work out then books can go to CS but most of them are way too good too be given away.

Will be heading into town shortly, have to go to the bank, and do a couple of jobs in town - when I get back I want to crack on and get some more done in DS2's bedroom, will run hoover over rest of the house and s&s the bathrooms, want to get the small pile of ironing done, then I'm completely on top of that. Beds need changing too. Will do some baking if time allows, I'm thinking may be some mince pies, a victoria sponge, twinks, choc brownie. Need to have a go at the red pepper and mozzarella slice too, that may form some part of tonight's dinner.

Have a great Friday everyone x

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

    Morning everyone,

Lovely to hear from you JulieG how is Eliza getting on?

Morning Molly great to hear that you are ok.

Hugs for Bitsy, LW, sunflower and Beth and anyone else who needs one.

JackieO there is no such thing as a left over Easter egg in our house!

Last day of the Easter holidays today, they have gone really quickly.
My parents are coming for lunch today and DD1 has made a mississippi mud pie, it looks and smells amazing.

DD1 is having a bit of a hard time at the moment with a group of friends, they have all been friends for 9 years and they go through patches of all falling out with each other and then they are all friends again. It is DD1's turn to fall out at the moment. Yesterday she came home from town upset but instead of dwelling on it she went out and played with my friend's dog! It is tough being a 14 year old.

Right, need to tidy the house before my visitors arrive.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

    Morning everyone.

Heavy frost overnight, just took Luna for her morning walk and it was beautiful over the fields, mist, frost and bright sunshine.
Sad news last night as my grandfather had a heart attack and passed away. He was 91 so he had most definately had a good innings. I am OK more upset for my dad as this is the first parent he's lost. Not sure how my gran will cope as they had been married at least 60 years. Anyway the usual Plod today, no idea what to do for tea but have left over cottage pie for lunch.

    Hugs and spoons all round.

    Good Morning All

Sorry about DD Moorhen, had that many times with my DD.

Its Friday :j, today have a nice day planned. Am currently awaiting an Asda delivery then taking OH to the docs at 10 to have his blood pressure checked. After that the kids and I are off to Westfield Stratford. Didn't really want to go but both the kids have money so we are going, will treat myself to a Starbucks :D

Don't think OH will make it with us, he was hoping to but needs at least another day of rest.

Not sure what will be for dinner tonight, the pulled pork last night was a success and very easy to do.

Need some more caffeine - have a good day all.x

Sorry to hear your news Bitsy, (((hugs))) to you and yours.

    Morning :hello:

Sorry about your Grandad Bitsy :(

Master tru was in court on wednesday, he was found guilty  They accepted that the loon hit him twice, but said there was no reason for him to hit back. I'd like to know if the opinion would've been the same if the roles were reversed  She kept changing her story while being questioned but they decided she was a 'consistant and credible witness'. Lots of proof of her lies (and other things) was completely ignored. Outside the court, even her mum had a go at her for lying. We've had advice from three people that work within the legal system and have some info in the post from another. All four are absolutely furious. Unfortunately all our cash has gone so there will be no appeal.

So, yesterday I woke up at 2am with a bad headache and I couldn't get back to sleep. I don't know how to explain how I felt all day - rage doesn't even begin to describe it, it was way beyond that.

Today I woke up at 4am, no headache and completely calm. The washing's on, the chickens have been cleaned out and the kitchen is sparkly. We need to go shopping and I want to give everything a good dust down. I'll be putting Henry to work, he's been a bit lazy lately but I'll get him to do a proper job - under the furniture, etc. I'll probably be ready for bed at 5pm :D

Moorhen She's big (Just about to pull out 6-9m in tops, vests and Pj's because she's so long) She's very advanced too, she pulls herself to standing, She likes to sit up all the time, She can roll from her front to her back and has just started laughing :)

She was holding a rattle but gave up when she kept hitting herself in the head... so now she drops it (it's on a link) and kicks it instead, she can also find her dummy and last night even put it in herself :)
