Every time I drive to idea and conform, I question why I went! Apart from the hot dog and dime bar

TBH, it was your choice to queue at customer services to clarify the price. I'd have just paid the extra fiver there and then. She won't be the first or the last sales assistant to make a mistake when telling you a price.

What if she'd have said 'they're £29.99' but when you got to the till you realised they were £25.99. Would you have queried it then?

I'm not sure you can say the whole of Ikea sucks just because one person told you an incorrect price. It does suck, of course, but that's because it's full of people getting in your way and pushing their oversized trolleys into the backs of your ankles.

If you go on their web site before you visit, and tell it which store you are going to, it can give you a shopping list with the shelf and location information for everything.
Or install their app on a smart phone and be nerdy.

Don't they have stock and price checkers all over the place as well? In my local Ikea you can search for whatever item you want and it will tell you its price, location etc. I'm sure these machines are everywhere.

  • They have the stock checker machines at the Croydon branch of Ikea, but more often than not they are not working.

There was a period earlier this year when they were all turned off as a bunch of scrotes/chavs were going to each one and typing in racist comments and leaving them on display for the next person to use the machine to read.

This seems to have stopped now, but it's still not uncommon for many of them to be out of use.

We were at the Wednesbury branch of Ikea recently and didn't notice any machines there.

  • Definitely machine's at Wednesbury, or at least they were there in January (they are in and around the pick up area). Mind you, they are infuriating as more often than not the touch screen doesn't work.

I'm amazed you found a member of staff tbh.

By the way, do they still sell the re-branded kopparberg cider in their supermarket bit? It's a total bargain!
