Not even making the interview stage anymore?

This is frustrating, the past 5 jobs I've applied for I've not even got as much as a reply let alone an interview, For most on here you could probably apply for 5 jobs a week maybe even a day so its no big deal, for me I average 1 job application a week if even as jobs are so scarce around here, where am I going wrong? It can't be my CV as its been made over by someone on here and is really excellent. I'm really out of options now as was counting on at least one interview. Even the job I posted about here I didn't even get a reply to and it was the first job since I've been unemployed that matched my skills perfectly. Didn't even get an interview for sorting rubbish at the skip. Kinda feeling a bit flat now.

If you're sending the same CV for all of the jobs, then it's possible your CV is the problem - it's usually a good idea to tailor it to the individual vacancy.

However, there's also a very good chance that you've just had a run of bad luck. That sucks - but it doesn't make it any more likely that you'll be knocked back in future.

There's just thousands of people looking for jobs - I'm sure there's nothing wrong with your application as such - just that there's loads and loads of others for them to choose from, and you're not making it to the top of the pile.

Yeah I think I was just spoiled in Jan/Feb when I made it to the interview stage in most jobs, I asked at the job centre yesterday when I had one of them work focused interviews how many people roughly are after jobs around here? 800-900 apparently for on average 5-12 jobs per week.

In my last work focused interview, they gave me three jobs to apply for. one was bounced back - too much response they were saying, not accepting cvs. A second informed the job centre of the same thing, but not me.

I could have been the best candidate, but they weren't even going to look as I hadn't got in quick enough.

Could you maybe be hitting that problem too?

The last job I applied for I phoned after I sent my CV to make sure they got it, "Yes first in the folder" was the response.

I might be totally over thinking but this has only started happening since I started tribunal proceedings against my old employer over unfair dismissal.

You said in another post that you live in a small area didn't you? I hate to say it, but that could well be your problem, though it shouldn't be at all.

You probably need to find an enemy of your old boss, who also has a local business!
