Marks Spencer cheaper than asda

Asda beans use to be 29p. Recently the price has jumped to 43p.
Asda smartprice beans - 43p

Marks Spencers beans - 41p

I'm finding Marks and Spencers has quite a few other products that are cheaper than Asdas and Tescos. Bread, eggs, beans, cheese, some fruit and veg.

I second this. Some of their products are cheaper. They do a pack of 8 delicious sausages for £1 which is cheaper than most supermarkets and if you do buy them for £1 in most shops they're the cheapest range and don't contain that much meat.

    I've been Money Tipped!
The Lorne sausage used to be cheap, but not been in for a while - should have visited yesterday, but got distracted!!
Some of their half-price offers can be very good and I like their cake offers.

  • Wow. There's an M&S down the road from me but I always think it's way too expensive to shop there. Definitely going there for my beans now! ;) Thanks!

i can safely say i've never spent 40p on a tin of beans, i always buy on offer for around 25p, also the £1 sausages have less than 30% pork so i set them back, i only ever buy sausages reduced anyway ( always have a few packs in the freezer)

m&s bread and buns/swiss roll are nice and a good price they also tend to have good fruit offers.

My mother has a thing for M&S iced buns. One birthday I bought her loads of M&S vouchers and marked the envelope For Iced Buns Only ;)

Do they have much low carb stuff ? All the fish looked breaded to me.
  • I shop at M&S about 90% of the time and haven't noticed any increase in my food spend compared to supermarkets. They still have the pricey posh stuff, but plenty of basics now. And they have the best whoopsies of any stores in my area.

:rotfl: This is great. My DH loves iced buns, might have to pick him up some as a treat.

They have plenty of unprocessed meats and fish, so that's naturally low carb. Good select of low carb unprocessed veg as well. Can't tell you if any of the meals are low carb though, never look at them. The "Fuller for Longer" stuff would be the best place to start looking though.
