Could i make a sauce with it and then freeze the sauce ?

I love making guacamole with avocado, salsa and creme fraiche but a tub is too big and altho i can use it for other things, i wondered if it can be frozen?
Thanks0 -
You can
It might separate on defrosting, but a quick stir should deal with that
There's an older thread here with more ideas for you; I'll merge this one later.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Who told you you can't freeze cream? Double cream freezes well; single not so well due to lower fat content. It can separate on defrosting, so I stir it into sauces and it's fine:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Really???
This is amazing news... what about Elmlea??? Can I freeze that???
I am all excited! I keep using half a pot and trying to convince my husband to use the second half in coffee (which he pretends to do by tipping it down the sink!!)We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. What's elmlea?:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Buttermilk cream substitute...
'Elmlea is the real alternative to cream, and has a number of advantages. First of all, Elmlea lasts a lot longer than cream. In fact, if unopened, it can stay in the fridge for up to eight weeks without going off. It's versatile too, and has at least 30% less fat than the cream equivalent - the light varieties contain at least 50% less fat than Double or Single cream'
'Elmlea is a blend of buttermilk and vegetable oils and is classified as a dairy cream alternative (DCA)'We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like.
