    Wey hey

I second all the votes above and also want to say I think Mirtos and DDDK have been making great strides on the £18k challenge....

As well as dear Emily - Ehallet who just proves how much can be achieved in such a miserable year for her.

All three of you should apply!

LA never realised you felt that way about me :o

Oooer missus! Maybe it did come out a bit wrong!

However I still think you are one of the people who should definitely enter, Miss Moozie.

You've done so well and you've been inspirational to many many people. Myself included so much that I paid off over £5k myself last year! Not a patch on a lot of folk though.

I reckon if anyone feels, even secretely, that they've done bl**dy well, they should enter. Gotta be in it to win it and all that and there is certainly no financial risk involved.

I'm proudly paying my debts off in a silent way, so I'll not be applying.

The prize is £500 but I'm sure the story will raise a lot more money than that though!?

Well just a guess but I assume as the winner will be used for publicity, their story will be sold on to the media?
    Could be wrong.

I see. I'm not sure the media pay for stories (I hope not, anyway!) but I'm sure all publicity helps...

  • Hi guys,

I have to say I was a bit disappointed to see the response to this competition as I was so excited about it and I think people have kind of missed the point! I absolutely love the DFW board, I think it's a brilliant example of the mutual support and help that's part of the site. I know for sure that I wouldn't have been able to become DF if it hadn't been for the inspiration and amazing stories on this board. This competition isn't just for the hard core Debt Free Wananbees it's for everyone that uses the site and is meant to be a celebration of the amazing achivements and progress everyone here has managed.

As for the publicity, word of mouth and Martin's broadcast work is how we bring new people to the site. If one person reads an article and is inspired to think wow I might be actually be able to do something positive about my debts then I think it's a job well done! Just my thoughts and keep the entries coming :)

Yoohooooo (and a moooooo) to yoooooo all....

Good idea, but I can see the problems - the biggest one being that some of the best debt dieters out there (and I know of many) may not be too keen to have their details publicised......although I can also see what a great affect good publicity can have on those who have yet to discover MSE. I found that out for myself last week.

I guess it's a case of those who are daring enough to go public can do so, and the rest of us will happily carry on hiding behind our penguins, cats, cows etc and cheer each other (and MSE) on in private!

May the best cow or angel win! :T
