Some help plz for all u people in the know
Just been looking for an internet tv but as my tv is only about 10 months old really don't want to buy a new tv
One of the options that came up on argos website was Apple tv? Is this just like a router to enable any tv to become internet enabled? Or is there a product on the market which does?
Thanks for looking I am a complete novice with most technology:D

Another alternative would be to connect an xbox or ps3 and use that to connect to the internet.0 -
any particular services you want on the tv? like lovefilm netflix etc...ewwwww what is that...0

yeah between the household we have signed up to love film and have unlimited online watching so would really like to use this to make the most of £15 per month subscription xxx0

or connect the PC/Laptop to the TV.
What internet devices do you have at the moment?
The full list of Lovefilm supported devices is on their website:

at the moment i current have bt infinity, i have an unused computer tower a laptop which seems to be constantly in use and a wii
Thanks0 -
Lovefilm isn't on the Wii, so it would be connect the PC or laptop to the TV for the duration of the film (cheapest as you only need a cable), buy a PS3 (currently £160 in Sainsbury's) or a supported TV.0

Personally i would use the ps3 because it has lovefilm(i use that a lot on the ps3) and netflix. not only that you can store music and videos, and comes with wireless controllers.
the ps3 for the money comes with a lot of really nice features.ewwwww what is that...0 -
So I'm wrong in thinking that 99% of TVs manufactured these days have internet connectivity? Mine is 2 years old and has access to lovefilm/netflix/iplayer and a load of other rubbish too.
Unless OP bought one of the 1% ones ...0 -
for money saving the old tower would be best,
a couple of cables (depending on the connections) and a cheap wireless dongle and a cheap keyboard and mouse so should be able to be connected for less than £20 i would expectDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
thanks for all your help i will get something set up at the weekend (when oh is more from work for weekend) . just been told by oh that he thinks the tv maybe internet ready, and i already have a load of cables which much to everyones annoyance i hoard, but i bet they wont moan when i can set the tv to the internet without and money : )
thanks again Bev xx0
