I wandered off plan a bit last week - I only managed 4 days out of 7 - and I really must do better this week. :naughty: My plan is very heavy on the pork - not entirely intentionally - but it's my favourite meat so I hope that will help.

Friday - HM chorizo and pepper pizza
Saturday - pasta with prawns, tomato, feta and olives
Sunday - roast pork with dauphinoise potatoes and purple sprouting broccoli
Monday - LO pork and sausage 'cassoulet'
Tuesday - LO pork and veg noodles (or just veg noodles if the pork joint isn't big enough for two meals of LOs)
Wednesday - sausage and lentil stew
Thursday - feta and sun-dried tomato omelette with psb
Back after a very long break!

I did a freezer inventory when I got home from work, so now I know what I have to get through (still need to defrost it!) I'm still not in an overly foody mood, but will do a plan and see how it goes.

    Monday - college

Tuesday - pork and cider casserole with mashed potato and veg (well I think it's pork and cider...I could be in for a surprise when it's defrosted)

Wednesday - creamy pasta with ham and sweetcorn

    Thursday - college

Friday - sausages, cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes

Saturday - lasagne with garlic bread (will make some bread)

Sunday - chicken supreme with rice

There are perhaps some slightly odd combinations there, but I have bits to use up :)

I fail at this every week due to my own laziness :( I must try harder as I need to reduce our outgoings. MUST TRY HARDER!!

I normally skip breakfast, OH will have toast or cereal. Lunches when we are work will be either chicken salads, chicken wraps or tuna sandwiches.

Sunday - roast turkey with veg (freezer and stock cupboard + fresh veg)
Monday - OH is away, so i will have soup (stockcupboard)
Tuesday - HM donnor kebab with pitta (freezer)
Wednesday - Oxtail stew with extra veg (freezer + fresh veg)
Thursday - Dinner at IKEA :o as we are getting new wardrobes (savings)
Friday - HM mexican mince with rice and a wrap (freezer & storecupboard)
Saturday - HM spag bol with garlic bread (freezer & stockcupboard)

So if all goes to plan, all i need to buy this week is -

    Fresh veg and salad :j

    Fingers crossed!

Glad it's not just me. The last few weeks have been abysmal for me with planning. Must. Try. Harder.

Sat: Toad in the Hole with Beans
Sun: Steak Pie with Mash & Veggies
    Mon: Chicken Tikka with Rice
    Tues: Omelette
    Weds: Fish & Chips
    Thurs: Pasta Bolognese
Fri: Black Bean Pork with Noodles
    Sat: HM Pizza

Haven't got as far as next Sunday yet, as I want to see what offers there are on roasting joints at Mr Ms next week. Have been very down so there's a redoubling of efforts where food is concerned to make it tasty and healthy. When the oven is on I shall try to make a cake for the tin. Lunches are leftovers or sandwiches, and there are flapjacks or fruit for snacks.

Did come up with a really tasty way to use up a portion or two of Bolognese sauce yesterday. I added half a packet of fajita seasoning and some chilli powder and used it as a filling for enchiladas. Made the wraps myself so am feeling a bit proud of myself for trying something new. I have to say they went down quite well and may make them again.

I am glad I am not the only one fed up with menu planning, having said that I didn't plan at all last week and spent all week asking "what do you lot want for tea tonight" which was actually worse.. so here goes

Saturday- me out seeing Titanic 3d (think hubbie is getting a takeaway for himself and the boys)
Sunday- cottage pie (using a carrot and swede mash left from a M&S meal deal) and vegetables
Monday- Pasta carbonara for o/h and boys and spicy prawn and noodle soup for me..
    Tuesday- chicken curry and rice
Wednesday- Pork chops with new potatoes and vegetables
Thursday- Jacket potatoes for all except youngest son who doesn't like them, he is having wedges instead
Friday- something fishy (not decided what yet)
So that is me for the week ahead (hopefully) ....
  • Our meals this week are:

Tonight-HM Spagbol, Garlic Bread with Salad
Sun-Chops, Roasts, Cabbage, Carrots, Yorkshires & Peas
Mon-SC Chicken Curry & Jacket Spud
Tues-Toad In Hole, Carrots, Mash & Peas
Wed-Beans On Toast with Chopped Onion & Cheddar
    Thur-Gammon, Egg & Chips
Fri-Fish, Mash, Carrots & Corn On Cob

Have most items in other than a maybe few fresh veg towards the end of the week, or may just use all frozen.

    Evening all....

Making an attempt to go as veggie as possible though OH is not keen. Think I will resort to making him cook his own dinner if he doesn't like my veggie options!! However, lots of chicken based food due to roast chook tonight and L/O lamb.

Sunday: Roast chicken, sweet potato mash, carrots and peas.
Monday: Egg fried rice with chicken, bacon, peas, sweetcorn.
Tuesday: Both out so just some toast or cereal.
Wednesday: Chicken with salad and baked sweet potato.
Thursday: L/O lamb tagine with cous cous and toasted pitta.
Friday: Veggie burger with rice and mixed veg.
Saturday: Fish from freezer with sweet potato and veg.
