Does anyone know of anywhere apart from charity shops/recycling centres etc that buy second hand books?

Nmlc - you could try greenmetropolis, I sold some books on there few years back, but it was a bit slow TBH. Other than than Amazon/Play/Ebay, but books aren't a great seller sadly.

Good day in work, office this morning and work kids did bingo with OAPs this afternoon for final time. They did good, have definately improved over the 2 weeks! This time next week this group will have finished - :j :rotfl:.

I'm going out to see a band tonight, it's my friend's brothers band. another friend was meant to be driving but has just cancelled so I'll have to drive now, which is normally not a problem but I was looking forward to a drink!! Nevermind.

OS wise - WM been on and dried out on line. Dishes to wash.

    Have a good evening all

Bemuzzled - I had the same with DD when she was young. Im sure SS would have been called if our neighbours hadn't have been deaf! I bought DD this and she still has it - works really well!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

  • Finally read it all...... and hugs of course to all in need and a special mention to Essex Girl's OH and Cariad's Mum...

Right well the apt went really well and basically the nice SpR agreed with all my suggestions as she'd been reading my notes and had been thinking along the same lines so I'm off my meds - at least for a while to see what happens with my hormone levels. And then tomorrow I'm off to the gynae - fortunately it would be only one (maybe two) bus rides each way but OH is coming with me so that means it's car - flash! I did get a day ticket but I missed the first return bus from the hospital so saw another one that I knew I could get but it would mean a different route home with one change at a terminus. That was fine but when I got to the bus station the ONLY bus I can get to my area was not included on my day ticket  In fact of all the buses they have coming into that station only the one I arrived on was - they were all different companies. So the day ticket was £3.90 and then the last bus home was £3.20..... :( so much for money saving. I'm utterly shattered as well as I didn't sleep that well last night with thoughts rushing around so I've rather unwisely opened a can of G&T (M&S!!) that I had in the fridge... perhaps not a good idea LOL On the plus side my film has arrived from LoveFilm (Mr Popper's Penguins....penguins, what's not to like?) - I must say they are very quick. We might even keep this up when we switch banks as at the moment it's included in my RBS a/c but our bank is going :(. Mr Rage has gone to football so I've stuffed myself on last night's leavings..... but still feel hungry...I think toast might be making an appearance - or even cheese on toast as it is Grilled Cheese Day in the US... :j

Right I'm off to possibly watch Fringe or fall asleep on the sofa...... :D Have a nice evening y'all.....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Hi!

Not had time to read through today but love and hugs to anyone who is suffering.

Do you want to know what I've done today? No, probably not. tough.

Packed up everything for the caravan, went over there and cleaned and made up 5 beds ready for people coming on Saturday. Came home and made 3 dozen cheese scones for a buffet we are giving tomorrow for the friend with the important birthday. Did lunch and then cooked a piece of gammon and made a coffee and walnut traybake and a choc traybake (thank you Mary Berry), made half a dozen phone calls and answered about a dozen more and put the phone down on all those urging me to seek compensation for missold PPIs. Made tea - spag bol - and here I am.

Now off to boil eggs, slice ham, grate cheese etc for the platters of sandwiches I have to produce in the morning.

Probably won't be here tomorrow - do I detect the sound of distant cheering? - I've said it before and I'll probably say it again. I AM RETIRED.

Monnagran just reading that makes me feel exhausted. perhaps I'll just keep working. I thought I'd just be able to stay home, potter, read and sew.:rotfl:
Hope you are not too exhausted to enjoy tomorrow. :)
