Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 12th April This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Mornng all,
Cold here again, got the fire on for 10 mins to warm the lounge, the days are lovely atm though nice and sunny and hot.
Off to work today, will do a wash when I get in tonight, also have Mr T delivering, dinner will be kiev (bogof) chips and peas, so nice and easy.
Found a little puddle from little dog this morning, so have to deal with that first thing,
its not her fault she went out for her walk early eve then OH forgot to put her in the garden before bed, she will sneak down stairs when she comes though cos she gets so embarrassed :rotfl:
Ok better get on, have good days all xx

Good Morning RedRuby - and all to follow.
Had a friend round to join us and DS for supper last evening. We ate late and there are two empty bottles in the kitchen this morning...cue me waking at 5am with a splitting headache! Knew I needed to get up as staying in bed leads to me being sick on such occasions. Never mind, headache nearly gone now and I have a sparkly kitchen!
Will be taking DGD for her final swimming class at 9.30 - she and her Dad will be returning home this afternoon. The holidays have gone by so quickly. Only bit I dread is the daily battle to persuade her to brush her just below shoulder length hair! She hates doing it with a passion and isn't keen on being helped either. She is a treasure though and we'll really miss her being here.
General tidy up will happen after they leave. Lunch today will be her favourite macaroni cheese - no idea yet about supper!
Hope you all have a good day today.
Take care.Resolution:

Good morning redruby and to all who follow,
Very dull here this morning and really quite chilly.
Have got a Dr's appointment early this morning so up earlier than i have been lately.
Will put wm on just before i leave. Dinner tonight is chicken with potatoes and vegetables.
Will have to get some more baking done today. Not much left in the cake tin.
No other real plans as such. May pop over the allotment at some point to see how everything is doing.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning everyone, hope it's a good day for all despite the weather
Just started chucking it down here and it's generally cold and horrible. I hope it magically stops while I'm walking to work.
No OS today, just work til 4 then uni til 8. I got a wash on yesterday and nothing else needs doing woo!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Morning everyone

Thanks for H's birthday wishes, we had a lovely family day at Croome Park, sunshine, showers - perfect april weather really.
Having a pottering day today, got loads of washing to try and catch up on, rooms to clean in prep of visitors on saturday night.
Not sure what's for tea, trying to find inspiration for meal planner, going off what's there and therefore not being organised and cooking in advance. To my shame I've hardly used my SC lately, or the Remoska. Shall be banished from OS land at this rate :rotfl:
Hugs and spoons all round.
Beemuzed not sure how old DGD is but can she be persuaded to brush it like Rapunzle in Tangled has to??I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Light cloud here this morning, but rain forecast for later. DH up and off to work stupid early. Washing to go out on the line shortly.
Dinner last night was roast chicken pieces, mash, LO roasties, LO cauli/broccolli cheese, LO yorkshires, carrots, sprouting broccolli and gravy - really pleased as nothing was wasted. Lasagne and chips is on the menu for the menfolk tonight, I'll have fish, jacket potato and veg - need to check where I've put the bag of chips - as not in the inside freezer!
Wasn't hugely productive yesterday but did organise car insurance and breakdown cover, did all the ironing - have some more to do once washing from the line is dry and will then do 1 more load of washing - dirty clothes basket should then be empty - but for how long?? Did a bit of a clean up in the kitchen - why do the kids use every cup, glass, plate and bowl in the cupboards and all the cutlery - then moan there's no clean stuff??? Made bread rolls for the kids lunch yesterday and there's some left for today, I'll have my normal salad and then melon etc for dessert. May do some baking/cooking as tins are empty and the menfolk are moaning "there's nothing to have for dessert"!
May make a start on DS2's bedroom today - one of those things you know you have to do but don't know quite where to start!! I'm thinking black bags, CS and tip! Will try to ebay anything suitable.
Was lucky yesterday and won £30 - didn't outlay any money for it either - so that's on it's way to my bank account as we speak. That will be a bit more paid off the overdraft or cc - have to decide which.
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Am trying something new for dinner today - pulled pork, it should be in the slow cooker already but I forgot first thing! so going to put it in now. Going to serve it with baps, fries & coleslaw - need to pop out for some white cabbage.
Nothing else really to report, have a great day all.x0 -

Essex Girl - not sure what happened but hope your DH is better x
Redruby - I also got up to find a puddle - despite letting my 2 out at 2.30am for a wee!
Am off to the docs in a min - medication review with some new doc I havent met yet - still as I'm first in it shouldn't take long. Then I'm off to art class, dashing home to take DS to work then grocery shopping round Morrisons and Aldis.
Tonight I'm out for a meal with a good friend, we are both busy and its hard to find a day when we're both free.
In between all that there's a mountain of ironing to do.
I got up early to dye my hair as it was rather badger like:eek::D
hope eveyone has a great day and ((hugs)) to the poorly peeps x x xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all
Sunny here, hubby still in bed as he's on lates this week so I'll go & uncover the peas & lettuce.
No cooking for me today, I've already made chicken soup for hubby to take to work for his tea.
I'm on the last ball of yarn on the 2nd shrug so I'll hopefully get that finished today.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
