Transferring Isa

Hi,

I have an old Santander isa. I opened a new isa a few days before the current tax year with Halifax, but didn't get round to transferring over the funds from Santander.

If I transfer now, will this count towards this years allowance? Halifax do accept transfers.

If I can transfer and it not affect my allowance, am I allowed to open a new ISA and use that one for this years, as long as I don't put funds into the Halifax one?

Thanks

Official Transfers arranged by the ISA providers do not count towards your allowance. Don't just do it yourself using online banking. That doesn't count as an ISA transfer. Fill in the relevant forms and get the new ISA manager to sort it.
