The items I want are difficult to get hold of in the UK, I could order new but they would have to come from overseas and all the places that I've already looked TYVM have shown a minimum of 6-8 weeks wait.

It really gets my goat when people assume I'm not smart enough to have looked elsewhere!

Well, this is the ebay forum :) People don't always look elsewhere.

I know that it happens, I just hate it when its the first assumption. No one says have you....? just why didn't you....? I don't mind people offering alternatives that I may not have looked at though, any advice is greatly appreciated.

In all honesty I check out the thing I want from other suppliers, compare the price then look to see if I can get a better deal on ebay. Though these days sellers on ebay seem to be crazily selling items for the same price as everywhere else.

Guess you should have just bid on them, your own fault for asking for a BIN price.

Most new items on ebay are more expensive than in the shops, where do you think half of the items listed come from in the first place.

Short answer is, either wait 8 weeks or buy from this seller, because if you dont someone else will. Seller probably knows they are hard to get hold of too, so can pretty much way over the odds.

I am aware of what the options are if I still want to buy TYVM.

NOT the point of the thread though is it??

    have you emailed the seller?

tell them the maximum you are willing to pay and what you think is reasonable for p&p and see if they agree
