Maybe worth giving someone a call that specialises in French mortgages for some general advice. As France does differ to the UK.

Thanks - Do you know how they differ..?

I have seen Conti Financial Services bandied about on here before as someone to speak to about overseas mortgages. Give them a call.

Lots of stakeholders will be fraught with problems. People are all individuals and you nwill find things go awry when one suddenly wants out / falls ill / gets married etc etc etc etc etc.

Also co - ordination is awkward. You will find some stakeholders respond to group issues / matters promptly whereas others leisurly go about thiuer lives before troubling themsleves to respond for example on agreeing the cost to fix a boiler 5 years from now.

Investment wise not really very good. This is a LIFESTYLE purchase, not a sound investment.
I am buying a villa abroad but it took a long time to find one capable of being investment grade material. First off you need year round rent if the thing is to stand a chance of being an investment. People misunderstand what 'investment' means.

Good post - I think we would primarily be looking for the property to be a family home first if its able to get any financial return through letting then that would be a bonus.

Could you reccommend any mortgage lenders that would be able to give some quotes?
