Well, I tried buying two packets of 'malties' and it worked.... the discount did come off. I then went back and got two 'choco snaps' and it didn't work.... very hit and miss, never mind I got one bargain :)

I bought the choco snaps and they worked out correctly at 2 for £2. As they're the most expensive cereals in the promotion, I'm guessing all items get their reduction.
  • worked for me today in scarborough store..
    thanks for info

ok i checked all the offer items really depends on what you chose, the greatest saving is on the malties or cornflakes for example the rice pops only gave 40 p off and the chocosnaps did exactly what it said it would do.

my tip is buy ther cornflakes and malties

I noticed that the cornflakes I got had a 'Mask' competition ending today and the Malties had a 'Comic Relief red-nose-day promo' (although it does say the closing date is 1st April 2006!) So perhaps it's the older boxes they're getting rid of - maybe there are new promotions on the way.

I saw these dates on the side of my corn flakes and malties (which are now nicely clogging up my kitchen ..yummy!) and am confused about when they close. There is mention of 2005 and 2006 dates on them.

Yes indeed this does work. I live in North London (Swiss Cottage) The Sainburys there has this 'multibuy' mis-scan .... I bought 2 packs of own brand Corn Flakes £1.23 each minus the £1.76 mis-scan .... nets out to 35p a box!! ... I was a happy bunny so I went back and bought 4 boxes own brand Rice Pops £ 1.48 x 4 minus £1.76 x 2 ... nets out to 60p a box .... & their all large size boxes too ... last you ages. BE QUCK ALL ... I'M SURE SAINSBURYS WILL 'COTTON ON' BEFORE LONG!!!

thanks for the tip - went into sainsburys in wellingborough bought 2 x cornflakes, 2 x rice pops, 2 x malties and saved 1.76 on each offer - had to clear a cupboard out to make some space though!!! These were the only types I noticed on offer - I didnt see the coco pops.

Perhaps if I eat cereal instead of the usual toast - i may even lose some weight too.

Like that idea - gain the money - lose the weight!!!
  • Brill! this does still work (on the comic relief shreddies anyway) even in my brand spanking new hi-tech store in southampton, and the use by date is jan 06 so I'm stocking up!
