Mail for my ex-husband being sent to me - how?

Today I have received a letter addressed to my ex-husband, from Lloyds TSB. He has never lived at this address, and does not even live in the UK.
I returned to the UK in January. How has Lloyds linked him to my private address? I am not a Lloyds TSB customer!
I have tried phoning them but got fed up with being put on hold for so long (why should I pay for the call?), so have just written them a letter.
I am almost certain that ex-husband does not even have my address, so I don't think it's him trying to make out he lives here.
Very concerned as to how and why Lloyds presume he lives here. I know that only they can give an explanation, but has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I would have returned it unopened with a note on the front "not at this address". There is usually a return address on the back. Just scribble yours out.0

It's very worrying. Hopefully Lloyds will have a logical explanation and can resolve this quickly. TBH, I'd probably call just to get this sorted out; I wouldn't want to wait for a letter. If you don't want to use an 0845 number you can try 01733 347007.
Without knowing any details, my first thought would be your credit file. Have you ever had any joint financial products, even many years ago? You might be linked to him through these and that's a way in to gaining your current address."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Maypole - that's not the point! I only opened it because I could not believe my eyes, how and why did they send his correspondence to my address?!
Fluffnutter - thanks, yes we had a joint mortgage many years ago but it is beyond me why they would suddenly change his address to mine, without his knowledge let alone written authority (which they insist on for everything else).
I would like an explanation in writing so that I can send it on to my ex. Hopefully he will then close his account due to Lloyds TSB's complete lack of security.0 -
perhaps it was human error?
I left a company 8 years ago, and someone called my mobile last week asking to speak to my ex boss about the account.
They were very sorry once I explained and went off to dial the right and up to date number.0 -
If he owes them money, then they will try to get hold of him at any address that they think he could conceivably be reached at - was the letter chasing payment for something?0

No, I know he doesn't owe them any money. The letter was advertising special terms for Lloyds credit cards. I know he has 2 which have not been used for 8 years since we moved abroad. He continued to receive statements, new cards etc. at our address abroad so I am at a loss to understand why they would suddenly start sending stuff to him here.
I don't see how it can be human error because no-one has ever given them my address! Ex husband does not even know it, and I am not a Lloyds TSB customer! This is so curious, I just want to get to the bottom of it.0 -
You could go in brach and demand an explanation there and then.0

is there an email address you can send an enquiry to? might save time and money not having to use the phone and would get a quicker response than a letter.
sirmarcus used to have all the ceo's email addresses, but hopefully he's been PPR'ed by now0 -
Thanks - going into a branch will not solve anything, they will only tell me to contact the office where it came from - which I have done. It came from the Manager of Credit Cards, Lloyds TSB, Doncaster. They seem to make it as difficult as possible to communicate with a human being - one central phone number where you get put on hold indefinitely. Searched website for an e-mail address but there is just a series of automated questions and answers, no direct e-mail address for this department.
Anyhow, they will receive my letter in the morning and I will wait patiently.... glad I am not a customer of theirs.0 -
Forgot to ask Mary - what does PPR'ed mean?0
