Help needed asap :( - poo on couch

As the title suggests, cat poo on couch, not just normal poo though, diorheea. Cleaned it as much as I possibly can but can still smell it, it was in the bit where the two cushions join so think it may be in the seam which I have tried scrubbing.

It's an expensive couch and only a month old so a new one not really an option.

I could actually cry, that's 3 days in a row with the cat, think it's a bug though due to the runnyness of it today.

Probably a good idea to get the professionals in for this one. It can be cleaned using the tools the pro's have such as a high powered wet vac.

Do you have an idea of cost?
It's white leather btw incase that matters. Stain etc are removed, just smell remains.

Pet shops sell odour neutralising stuff that smells lovely and totally removes smell. there is one for hard floors and one for textiles and it only costs around £4. I can't remember what it is called but if you have a pets at home near you it would be worth a visit.

I have an 'odour off ' spray out of pets at home. I have used it before on peed on areas so I guess it may work on this? Worth a try will do that.

As for cat, is it best to starve him atm until the bug passes??

Bicarb tends to be good for odour removal, sprinkle some on, leave for a few hours and vacuum up?

Thanks guys, going to use vinegar just now as we have some.

Not got bicarb but can easily pick that up later, going out in an hour so will let the vinegar do it's work then bring bicarb home.

He's pood on carpet upstairs too, I have scraped the poo of (graphic, sorry) and residue remains but I do have a Vax carpet cleaner, need to buy the fluid for it though as I have ran out, won't be able to get that til tomorrow but I am not worrying about the smell remaining as the Vax is brilliant.
  • Bicarb is my secret weapon too, works great in carpets and on furniture. Leave it for as long as you can then just hoover or brush off. :) No need to buy expensive carpet cleaners, the brown mark can be got rid of with a nail brush and soapy water and the smell will be removed with the bicarb.

Thanks, I have a carpet cleaner though so not going out of pocket for the carpet stain. The fluid is a bit expensive but I just buy a cheaper version from Asda/Poundland.

Please be careful with chemicals on a leather sofa. I would use a solution of bio washing powder and a cloth. Gently wash, dont wet it though. The bio washing powder will get rid of the smell as well as clean.

We have a lovely Leather suite, well I think its lovely lol, we only see it when I take the throws off.
