I have a bad back - maybe from lugging about the professional jacks when I was younger0

Fair enough then! I didn't realise you'd used them in the past (damn heavy ain't they!)0

We used to sell them so I had to move them while in boxes - also used them a lot and they are not the easiest to manouver and that was prior to getting some ruptured discs0

I've just been through this purchasig process and came to the following conclusion.
Anything with a handle that you have to remove to operate the valve is junk. Decent jacks have a twist handle action to release / tighten the valve.
I was lucky enough to come across a suitable 3 ton beastie on ebay locally for the right money, but it took a while of searching. For new ones, you're looking at cheapest £100 for a sealey or clarke one.0 -
Wel I finally found a tape and measured the ground clearance one I got to work and its borderline whether the 130mm ones would clear the sill. Am going to try and measure more precisely but think I might need a low profile jack - either that or mess about with the emergency sissor jack to get the clearance to put the trolley jack under.....0
