Hi I attended my usual opticians and they agreed to send off for the contact lenses for me to try. However when I returned yesterday to collect them I DID NOT receive a 30 day supply. There was a pr I had to put in there and then, obviously, and only 4 more prs. When I queried this I was told they too had queried the supply provided and been told that it was indeed correct. Very misleading if this is correct - 5prs of daily lenses is a 5 day supply not 300

Just to let you know that Specsavers are not participating in this offer.0

Just to update, I received mine today from Vision Express and have a full 30 pairs. I did pay £35 for the contact lens checkup/fitting, however I was due a check-up anyway and my normal contact lens supply has almost run out, so I would've paid that anyway. They did the fitting/checkup for my normal lenses along with the Acuvue ones at the same time, gave me my normal prescription and said if I preferred the Acuvue ones I could pop back in and they'd get me a prescription sorted for that.Kate.0

Had a nightmare with this yesturday. I rang specsavers in Bath who I had just had a contact lense fitting with who said it shouldn't be a problem and that they were aware of the promotion. I went in and was told no this voucher doesn't say specsavers, I then had to wait to see the manager (i think) who said oh are you doing the London Marathon then (?) apparently that's part of the terms and conditions(!?) and then got shirty saying I would have to have had an acuvue lense fitting so they couldn't do it (which I should get for free anyway as I am on DD for my lenses with them) which they didn't offer me although they did admit that they we're told a few people may come in that they would support some of them. basically total load of rubbish, I cancelled my DD with them as I can get my contact lenses much cheaper online although she said they would cost twice as much anywhere else. Anyway sorry for the moan- but did anyone see anywhere that it states you have to be doing the London Marathon? I've checked and the only thing I can see is that they state no matter what sporting activity you are doing yadda yadda. I might write an email to specsavers (not that I'm expecting a reply) lol0

p.s. have booked in for fitting with Tesco opt will cost £15 for fitting but they will do the offer will double check before I have the fitting though as I had one a couple of months ago and I'm not paying out again if I can't get the deal0

My two-yearly checkup with Tesco Opticians isn't till July but I still got charged the £15 fitting fee.
I'll report back and let you know how many pairs of TruEye I get (the optician tested me with TruEye and Moist as I get dry eyes; I've worn DaySoft lenses for years with Hypomellose drops, my eyes get terribly red without drops).
Also contactlenses.co.uk do a budget dailies brand called Crystal http://www.contactlenses.co.uk/details787_167.html that are a similar price to Daysoft (who now do an option called Silk). Haven't tested Crystal yet, bought some to try.0 -

had a similar problem with optical express. came home and re-checked the accuevue website and it makes no mention of having to participate in the marathon.
Oh well, offers finished now.
edit:
found this on the MSE page:Some MoneySavers have reported they’ve been turned down for the deal as they’re not running the London marathon. Acuvue has confirmed this is NOT a condition and the optician should give you the lenses regardless. It has also reconfirmed that all opticians that stock the lenses are taking part in the offer, if you have problems email Acuvue customer support.0 -
On the Hot bargains, deals & steals page, it did state "You need to print the voucher by Sun 22 Apr 2012 although there is no end date for redeeming it". The earliest appt I could get at Tesco's was Sat 21 Apr (yes a day before the print voucher by date ends). Took the voucher along to the appt. Optometrist did eye test but needed me to trial the True Eye & Moist first for a week which, for my numbers, they never had either in stock and had to order them. I am due to go back on Sat 5 May to start the week long test as that's when stock will come in. The Optometrist has told me, by showing me their little card issued from Acuvue, that the promotion ends Sun 22 Apr 2012 so I would not get the free contacts. I emailed Acuvue cust serv on Sat and they have today replied "Unfortunately, as per our terms and conditions, the last day for orders to be processed was 22nd April and apologise for any disappointment caused.". So what happened to "there is no end date for redeeming it"????0
