Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11th April This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    Morning all

I'm up a tad earlier than normal so posting now whilst waiting for work stuff to copy to my USB stick.

Looks to be a nice-ish day out. I have work this morning then meeting the uni girls to go through our group assignment. We are meeting in the pub again as it was so successful last week! It's a nice little pub for a chain one (Beefeater) and it has free wifi and lots of nice corners to hole ourselves up in.

OS wise - WM is on with towels, will peg out before I leave, dinner will be LO curry from the other night.

    Have a good day all

    Bore Da,

Am at work just finishing nights, feeling a bit frazzled as mum had a bad fall in town yesterday and was taken to hospital by ambulance. I was fast asleep inbetween nights and didn't hear my phone so found out about 16:00 so then made a quick dash to shower and hospital and was late in to work.

Mum was looking frail, she's 85, and in some pain in her hip but no bones broken luckily. The staff there were lovely with her and she was kept in to be kept an eye on, hoping to be out today. She'd only gone to town to pay the fruit and veg man on the market 2p she was short last week :(

Will check in properly later, I really need my sleep now!! :o

    Hugs,

    Jan x

    Good Morning All

Have been MIA recently - we went away for the weekend and had a lovely time, then OH was at the hospital yesterday. Was due to have a major op to repair his Uretha (sorry if too much info so early) which would have been very painful and had a long recovery time. The surgeon decided when he was on the operating table to instead do a temporary repair which hopefully should last at least 18 months so now he has just got to take it easy till the end of the week then back to normal next week :j

Now have caught up on all the washing, ironing pile is well scary and the house needs some attention so just about to write my todo list. Will just do the essentials in the office and get on. Also need to menu plan and do an online shop.

Sun is shining brightly here but it is definitely chilly this morning. Quite a good day for getting the housework done.

Dinner tonight is lamb chops for OH & myself, macaroni cheese for the kids.

(((hugs))) wherever needed and have a great day.x

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Bright and sunny here this morning, but rain forecast for later. DH up and off to work stupid early. Washing to go out on the line shortly.

Dinner last night was a change to the menu plan but nothing extra spent - had some bacon, sausages etc that needed using up, so menfolk had bacon, sausages, egg, LO mash fried. I had omelette and salad. Remembered to get the chicken pieces out to defrost so we'll be having those tonight with mash, LO yorkshires, LO cauli/broccolli cheese, carrots and gravy. The LO meat from the roast has gone into various sandwiches etc so nothing wasted.

Really need to give the house a good clean - have a major ironing mountain and the whole house in general looks like a pit - it's always like this when kids on school hols. Didn't get the 2 "must do" jobs done last night after work either, so once I've decluttered another cuppa, had a shower and brekkie will do that as the first job. Then I'm going to get stuck into the ironing at least if I get that done and put away it's less clutter everywhere. Have decided to tackle a room at a time (one a week) - whilst just doing a normal clean in all other rooms. Both boys bedrooms are horrendous - they both need new beds, redecorating etc and major clear outs as a huge amount of their stuff they have now grown out of - that's both toys and clothes! Need to get stuck in and address this - once I get going I'm fine it's just the thought - will get the camera ready and put as much as possible on ebay - we have some other stuff to ebay too. Anything not suitable for ebay will be skipped or CS.

I'm on a day's holiday today - so no work for me until next Monday so need to make some dent in the "to do" list! Have done an on-line grocery order for Friday afternoon - think I'm going to spend more than I wanted but have ordered heavy and bulky things as it's being delivered! Also have a couple of jobs to do on Friday and it helps to have the shopping taken care of and delivered, helps me to not get in a panic that I've got lots to do and not sure that I can get it all done! Plans have changed slightly for the weekend and I'm now going shopping with friend's wife, husbands going to a meet the members, kids going to MIL & FIL for the day - so am quite looking forward to that, friends are a good bit older than us but we get on really well, will enjoy looking round the shops - nice when you haven't got the kids in tow - moaning they're bored, are hungry, are thirsty etc!

    Better crack on then!

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

    Morning everyone :)

Luna gave me a lie in til 6.30 am today :T
Struggling to keep up with the washing, DS is geting through clothes at a rate of knotts because he keeps playing in the dirt and getting filty. I dont mind him getting grubby but his coats are filthy too and they take longer to wash and dry. There just seems mountains of the stuff :o

Anyway i shan't get much done today as its H's 40th birthday today, hes got the week off work and we're going out somewhere today. Just need to find somewhere thats dog friendly.......
So OS bit limited to making a picnic......:o
Not sure about tea, there will be some cake involved ;)

    Hugs and spoons all round.

EG - Hope H is OK and recovers well xxxx

Cariad - your poor mum. Hope shes home soon and sending her positive healing vibes xxxx

redruby - enjoy going back to work :)

    Morning all!

Weighed myself this morning, I've put on 5lbs recently!! So need to get back on track with my eating again. Need a trip to iceland for WW ready meals! So Instead of left over pizza for lunch I will need to go get myself a salad or something healthy.

Did a quick 20 min workout this morning, so that's something. Will try do one tonight too.

Cariad and EG - hope for speedy recovery's for your loved ones.

Pup has gone to work with OH today, so I don't need to come home for lunch and with also means he can't eat us out of house and home!!

    Hugs to Molly and LW.

Bramble don't worry about the weight gain, it has been Easter!

Bitsy Happy birthday to your OH.

Damp and overcast here this morning but the forecast is good for later so WM is on. I have been doing 4 or 5 washes a day since we got back from holiday.

Went for a bike ride yesterday with 3 friends, we rode to a pub and sat outside in the sunshine drinking tea, it was lovely. Not feeling any ill effects today so I might go out again later.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Good Morning all, bit nippy at the moment but at least its dry.I have a dentist trip with two of my grandsons this morning then I'm not too sure what I'm up to for the rest of the day.WWent shopping yesterday and as I hadn't been for about 10 days I noticed how much prices have gone up again even in such a short time .The price of meat is mindboggling.Angus steak is now £36.00 per kilo at Sainsbobs and its not so long ago (only just after Christmas ) that it was £22.00 per kilo.So no more steaks for me anymore,ah well I suppose baked beans has a similar amount of protein.:) I'm just going to get the kettle on for a brew have a great day everyone whatever you are doing
    Cheers JackieO xxx
