0844 numbers assigned to international numbers
Hi,
Apologies if the answer is in here somewhere, but I've searched and I can't find it.
A while back I registered with a website that assigned a unique 0844 number to each of my international numbers, so rather than having to dial an access number and then key in the international number, you just dial the eleven digit 0844 number and get straight through. This is great!
HOWEVER... unfortunately I lost all my emails a while back and I can't remember which website it was, nor can I remember all of my numbers - DOH!
Have any of you heard of such a firm and can you point me towards them please?

My guess is http://www.cheapercallrate.com/
If you don't use the numbers for a while, they discontinue them anyway and recycle later, so you'd probably need to set up new ones by now - or if you can't remember your other details, open a new account.0 -
YES! You are spot on. I have logged in (ironically I could remember my login details, it was just the website I'd forgotten - LOL!)
Massive thanks!0 -
if I signed up for this service, would I still be charged for using this service through my O2 contract where I have 0844 and 0845 nunbers included in my free monthly allowance?
Please advice? Many thanks0 -

No calls to the 0844 numbers provided by this company would be included in your O2 x-net inclusive minutes.
The advantage of this supplier you want be charged until your connected, unlike other 0844 gateway numbers where you pay as soon as you hit announcement.0 -

It's giving me 0871 number after registration, which is not included in the X-net minutes of O2.0 -
Depending on the destination you want to call it will allocate you a 0844,0871 or even a 090 number.0

Used this in past but looks dead nowAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

I think maybe it became part of Watford Electronics, which ran into financial problems - well, the number series used were allocated to it.
In any case it would have been of less use since O2 started charging for 0844 numbers.0 -
But good for when I went to the states.. just got a US sim and left the 0844 number on my answerphoneAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

If you're on O2, you could have direct-forwarded it like that out of inclusive minutes ......... but that was then
In fact, using a VoIP provider with a forwarded ordinary landline number is still cheap, especially the Betamax brands like Voipcheap etc (though for those you use a number from another company).0
