CPW group online - clearance stock ok?

after many hours, i've finally decided what handset i want , samsung D840 in silver please!

i want it on T-Mobile Flext20 & i can only find it online with the CPW group. they have some phones that are clearance stock & i was just hoping for some feedback.

from what i can tell, the D840 only came out the beginning of last month so i would imagine these would be display models??

i've just done another search (don't know what i did 1st time round, eyes half closed i think! ) & have answered my own question - you picks your price & you takes your chances!

will have to see how brave i'm feeling later when i place my order

I have had 3 clearance offers from CPW companies in the last year and all have been fine. You won't get a box with the phones but they are spotless and are generally ones that have been returned within the 14 dy return period.

Note that you are not guaranteed memory cards or other accesories that are otherwise standard though.

Like you say with it being a new model it is likely to be totally as new, i just bought a Motorola K1 from there and it is just like new. I have had a couple from there like this, my only bad experience was with a Samsung D500 that came on a blister pack and was quite shabby.

well, i'm a coward , so in the end i went for a new one anyway!

i've gone thru quidco with thephonespot so i should get £50 cashback, the new phone has cost me £20 - and seeing as it's an 18mth contract, i didn't want to risk getting a dodgy one.

i probably could of saved myself some more by going for a clearance deal, but i just don't seem to have much luck in these things, you know "if it can go wrong, it will with me" type of thing.

anway, phonespot (e2save on their texts & emails) have already advised me it's ready to go & will be with me by 1pm tomorrow, RM spec delivery.

I got a k750i from OSPS that was sold as a clearance phone but it came in the original box with all the required contents and was in perfect condition. I have had no complaints with it.

my lovely new mobi is sitting next to me as i type :j . very, very nice it is & i'm well pleased with my choice.

my 1st choice, the LG Shine, isn't available on t-mobile but this D840 is pretty much the same in looks. lovely big screen (already covered in fingerprints tho! ), impossibly slim slider with brushed & polished metal finish.

also glad i paid my £20 for a new one too as it comes with a 2 year warranty from samsung - the clearance ones are just a year (which i presume is by CPW not sammy?).

just waiting for my no. to be ported now & i'll be wearing my thumbs out in the meantime setting it all up...:D

Aha! you are under a false assumption there Mr Wolf

mine is a gold, old fashioned, straight forward - pays your money & you gets your phone deal - none of this pesky cashback shenanigans for simple ol' me!

(but i do hope it all gets sorted out OK for you tho )
