At the moment I am on NTL FREEDOM (not for long) which is a dial up broadband and free talk package. All my calls are billed by ntl, but are all free apart from mobile numbers, o870 etc but all billed by ntl and I pay line rental to BT. However today I have just ordered sky broadband and sky talk ... just hoping that the move will go smoothly!0

For the OP the line rental is charged by BT as it was always. The calls are no longer going via BT at all. BT send you a letter to confirm this when you sign up with another call provider(AOL)
The broadband has a price and the phone calls have a price. These 2 are bundled together with AOL and you just pay a separate quarterly charge to BT(or whoever) for the line rental. Some companies offer the whole package now and you no longer have to use bt for the line rental. Tiscali and talktalk offer this.
I used to have BT line rental
Freeserve internet
Equitalk phone calls.
You realy can tailor your requirements. They are very separate things which can be bought in bundles.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
